I noticed under the technical details for the instrument cluster it mentions lap timing and splits. How exactly does this work? Does the system use an infra-red beacon to trigger the timing system?

I also wondered if there are any plans for more advanced features. A system which performs data logging in 0.1 sec intervals and track mapping can be purchased in karting for less than $500. An option for the 1125R could add integrated features to aid in track day tuning.

Thanks,
Dave

I would think that all the timing features will be dependent on the rider pushing buttons on the console.

Yeah - we asked and it's like some of the other systems - it's effectively a multi-functional stopwatch, not triggered by the IR light like MyChron or Ultralap.

If I'm mis-stating, I'm sure to be corrected. My source was somebody wearing a Buell shirt at a bar in Monterey... details get a little fuzzy...

Slaughter is correct, it is rider triggered.

It would be REALLY cool if it were triggered by the high beam flasher...

SWEET! : ).

Thank you : ).

You guys rock : ).

So.... I was reading a duck monster forum the other day and one of the monster owners was absolutely RANTING about the fact that his beloved monster forum was quickly turning into an 1125R forum : ).

Good work ;).

I sure hope Buell can build enough of these things : ). I'll be needing one and I'm kind of an instant gratification type...
