General,

Take a look at the muffler on the 1125R, and try to decide where the best place to mount a center stand would be. It would appear to me that on a superbike, the best place to have a centerstand is in your garage at home where you can bring it out when needed. But that is just my opinion, and I am not trying to tell Buell that they did anything "wrong" with not putting one on the 1225R.

Yours in Buelling,

jimidan

I've had bikes with and without centerstands. Don't miss not having one on my Buell. Only thing it helps with is saving space in your garage, and I can use a paddock stand for that.

Centerstands come in real handy for lubing your drive chain.

Oh wait...

I would say 90% of the people looking at the 1125 are looking to do some hard cornering.

Hard Cornering and centerstands generally don't mix.

Centerstand? How about cruise control, saddle bags, heated gel seat, touring tires, backrest for your honey. Maybe an automatic like the Yamaha FJR or an adjustable windshield.

This thing is going around tracks with the best sportbikes in the world. It's a sportbike they just don't come with centerstands.

"WELL", why not ???

Probably the same reason there's not an "R" on the transmission... or an electrically adjustable windscreen... or cruise control... or drink holders

The Ducati that Paul Smart won Imola on in 1972 had centerstand lugs clearly visible on the frame.

Boy, was that a different time.

We're not setting the way-back machine to 1972 Sherman,

The tires were crap, the chassis' were floppy, and we won't even talk about the dubious fashions of the time.

I don't want to go back to 1972, Professor Frink.

I've been there already.

I like them but not on this bike...

Guzzis still have them a lot of their bikes and BMW on their touring/Adventure bikes.

If I had a Uly I would want one.

Do you REALLY think Elves are incapable of creating a centerstand that wouldn't limit cornering clearance? After all you've seen them do from the beginning up till now?? It's not a matter of "can" but "won't."

Be nice if you were offered the choice, as Honda does with the VFR 800 Interceptor, but que sera sera, right?
