What factors led to the 1125cc displacement? I assume it was balance between RPM's, HP, weight, etc.

Were any other sizes considered?

Excellent question! I second it and would add... when will the 1200cc based version for AMA-SB/BSB/WSB racing be available and will it be via a racing kit or a whole new model with a new engine top-end?

Nice try, Blake! Actually 1125cc fell out of the overall vehicle criteria we were after. There was no knowledge that the Superbike 1200 rule was going to happen at that time, and it was inconsequential to the project. Erik's goal was the powerband of the 1203, just extended on to over 10,000 rpm. The need for the torque curve to deliver the roll-on and drivability performance we wanted plus the horsepower and rpm goal led to the engine size. BTW, the torque curve (or torque line as we like to call it) is what you see in the graphs. This is no marketing fabrication as some would have you believe. "Built from the rider down" is no joke.

Hmmm, so does this mean this bike was not built with racing in mind??

I for one hope so. A relatively comfy machine capable of tearing up the backroads, canyons & twisties is what it want. And yeah it would be nice to be capable on the track, but not a priority (at least right now!)

If you were feeding your family off selling street bikes why would you intentionally built for another purpose?

My first design target would be an excellent consumer street bike.

I suspect it'll move to the race track fairly fluidly though . ..

Stock Cars are not good for daily drivers. Daily drivers suck on the track.

This is a single use tool. If they decide to race one, I doubt it would be the same for consumer use.

How many have retrofit XBRR's for street use?
