Good for a superbike, not as good as an XB. "Your milage may vary" |

Just my quick take on this. The RC51 and Superhawk are both V twin sportbikes and they get crappy fuel economy. Love my X1. Commuting I can squeak almost 60 mpg from it. I would expect mid to low 40s from this bike. When I owned my CBR954 I tried for a week to get the best mileage from it. 43 mpg. |

when i was at the dealer show i asked this same question. the guys at the buell tech forum put it this way. they tested the 1125r in terms of how a european rider rides. they tend to be a little more aggressive than american riders. under that test simulation the 1125r got about 35mpg. in terms of american riders, they said to expect somewhere between 40-50mpg. not too shabby of a range when ya have that big ass tank! |

Shouldn't that be "Smiles per Gallon"? Isn't that really what is the most important when riding a superbike? One cannot expect the great mileage like on our single carb air-cooled bikes. My 88" has one 45mm Mikuni on it and when I am cruising, it gets almost as good mpg as my buds on stock 1203cc Buells. When I open it up though, it gets a little better than my bud on his Super Hawk with twin 49 mm carbs. I would bet that the 1225R will be similar...it is all in that right wrist. So Jim, If I don't drag the front break my mileage will be better. I guess that makes sense. |

My other left wrist, that is... Dragging the front brake is the only way to keep from running over me! (Message edited by jimidan on July 25, 2007) |
