I was coming back from east troy heading towards milwaukee when I spotted a "hammerhead" fairing bike about a 1/4 mile back. I slowed down for him to catch up and lo-and-behold...a 1125R Helicon it was! Cool!

I took out my crappy camera phone to shoot pics and video. I admired the bike as much as I could (scoops still look like toaster ovens to me). He got off at exit 56 and I keep on going towards Milwaukee.

Fast forward another ten minutes and a second Helicon comes up and passes me. Damn...I need to buy a lottery ticket! Got the camera phone out and took some more pics and video.

Well...I can't seem to upload the video. Maybe I'll try youtube.

Last and final vid:

BTW, the engine sound in some of the vids is my car, not the bike. The bike in stock form sounds very very quiet.

Nice to see a US made bike (yes, I know parts are made over the pond...) like this on US roads.

A day I thought I would never see.

My girlfriend has been seeing him all week around the waukesha area. From what I understand all the "employee" test bikes are at Buell. None have made their way up to the PDC in Milwaukee yet. Believe me, there's at least a couple of guys up there waiting very eagerly.

Those bikes are due out in a few more months, so the existence of some pre-production bikes are a certainty (yeah, we just saw some). I'll bet the design is pretty well set at this point, and do I dare say I'll bet that the production line is almost ready to get rolling with these.

I suspect those riders are thinking something along the lines of "yippee, I can finally ride in the daylight again" .

I've got to say it does look better with a rider onboard. I can't wait to see Buell actively back into racing, again.

I understand that both bikes are out of ET, but at least one is heading tword Milwaukee every day. Buell has Marketing at Juneau, just a thought.

Also, the one my gf sees coming out of Waukesha, today he's on a Honda Goldwing!

How funny . . I used to ride my factory bike, along with one of the guys riding the 1125R, from Waukesha everyday. It was fun to see some of the looks you'd get.

My bet is that few bikes will ever endure what those 1125R's are taking . . . .
