Okay, who's been on one? Post your ride reports when you can, if you can, anony if you need to. I notice that one or two folks in particular are uniquely silent on the 1125R sub-board, I suspect or wonder if they are in fact out flailing one around a bit, or perhaps they are just on vacation or swamped in work. So I'm just putting this heading up here to hopefully collect some early ride impressions if they are publically postable. Perhaps Sturgis will get a few special ride reports generated, or Laguna, or other venues between now and November.

http://www.speedzilla.com/forums/street-track/3898 3-new-buell-3.html

"I had the pleasure to not only see the bike but I rode a pre-production mule early Monday morning.
146 hp/82 lbs. BRP/Rotax designed.
The torque curve on this bike is amazing. ZTL braking works pretty well as any 8 piston caliper/braided line system should.

The Buells low unsprung weight hype really works and this puppy with the radiators up on the sides runs pretty cool. 5.6 gallons of fuel in frame, and the fairing and cockpit area is super quiet. Something that sounds goofy but really was noticeable. Handling on a Buell has never been a question in my mind only performance. Well this thing has it.
The slipper clutch is probably the best of any bike I have ridden.
It feels even lighter than the 370 lbs dry weight number.
I don't think that this bike will reinvent the wheel so to speak but it's the best Buell to date for sport bike riders that want performance with unusual style. I have known Erik for awhile now and he's different, just like the bikes he loves to build. By the way, top speed 168 mph. Not too shabby. As far as the RC51 comment.
This bike did not heat me up and it didn't feel like stopping a freight train under hard braking. Look for the AMA to allow 1200 cc twins in Superbike with restrictions.........."

Check out the link above the "fake" feedback, I *think* this might not be so fake after all. This IS the internet, but if this writeup is true, we are in store for some great stuff.

EDM (is that Edmonton?), i often like the impressions froom those that don't ride a buell. I don't have much experience (other than a few rides on friends ricers) on non-Buell bikes, so other perspectives are interesting to me....

also, IF those non-Buellers give positive marks you can generally take it to the bank as most are trying SO hard not to like the Buell.

Fresno- yep Edmonton! city of just over 1 million and I can count on my hands how many buellers in town.

I have ridden for 15+ years a myriad of bikes and have a Buell cause it is just so much damned fun!

The wife has a brand new GSXR 600 and as nice a machine as it is...no thanks...i like my torque thank you very much...

Now I just wanna know if I am gonna get my 1125R before the snow flies...

My favorite hockey team is the Oilers, so I picked up on your user name quickly. (pretty tough to see where the team is headed after the amazing Cup run).

Lucky here in California, we only have to deal with the rain. I couldn't IMAGINE getting the 1125r just in time for the snow and have to look at it ALL winter in the garage. That would truly be a torture test for sure!

The fans here are none too impressed with the recent trades either. Looks like its gonna be a long season this year..another struggle to make the playoffs / rebuilding year...

If you want Oilers merchandise and have paypal I have no problem picking it up and sending it to you - prob way cheaper than what you can get there.

back to topic....so no one has ridden one yet??? c'mon folks fess up!!!

Thanks for the merchandise offer. I do have paypal and may take you up on the offer when the season gets closer. There are a couple things I was looking at: a tuque for those frigid California winter nights and a ball cap or two and a 3rd jersey. Do you know if the NHL is moving to those more fitted jerseys this season? I think so....

BTW, from other posts it sounds to me like Court has personal connections with people who have ridden the 1125r

The bike will not be in the publics hands till late fall, only a special few have rode the bike and not many of them are badwebbers.

Sorry but you will have to wait.

Edmbueller, I am Flyers fan. All I have to say is thank you for taking Joni Pitkanen off our hands and good luck with him. The kid has a ton, and I mean a TON, of talent but a ten cent head.

I'm also very happy to have Smith on our team as we can use his leadership. And I hope Lupul can rebound from a bad year last season.

I've always liked Edmonton though and I still think you got jobbed in the Finals in '06. That puck was in. Good luck.

I like Hemsky a lot and he was a stud in the play-offs in 2006. I'm not sure why he seemed to have an off year last season. Maybe not enough scorers around him because he is more of a set up guy?

I found this on another bike forum. Scroll down to a poster named "motogeek." He claims to have ridden one and gives a quick recap. I dunno, sounds like bs to me.

That "Motogeek" guy is full of s#it.

I also had to laugh at the guy that says the underslung muffler looks borrowed from Yamaha. What a goofball.

Yeah, even guys on his site were calling him out on his bulls#@t...Funny how he said the torque fell off at 5k, I would think that if there is anywhere the torque might lack it might be below 3,500 RPM (and that certainly makes sense)...not that I plan to ride there much tho!!!

The shifting gears thing made me laugh too.
In the twisties all I need is third gear on my S and I'm golden : )

All the other gears are simply luxury items.

Motogeek may have been riding a moped, but not a 1125R. Very, very few people outside the factory have ridden them yet, and no journalist will be on one before the Laguna event. The idea that the power sags at 5000 rpm is laughable, or that you have to shift gears frequently.

Macman on speedzilla is a little more credible. Based on his profile, he may be one of Oklahoma's racing McDonalds, who have been very active in CMRA racing, and it's just possible he got a ride during the dealer show.
