Sold my 12S! I won't be purchasing the 1125R though. I want the whole package. Performance, looks, and etc. Go Buell, but man, once again they came so close to getting it right! Just a few changes to the styling (front fairing, pontoons, and muffler). They have the engine and chassis, just not the looks. So, I'll be waiting for this: KTM RC8 Venom

The price and comfort level of that bike just isn't going to be there for me. I like the looks and the motor will probably be great. The price tag is going to be $15,000 or so right? The comfort is going to be someone between sitting on a wooden plank or cheese grater.

what's up with the America's Cup "yacht" stuck under it?
I'm not a huge fan of the new 1125, but I think it compares ok to this thing looks-wise.

Best of luck

The new 1125 is a step forward but is no comparison in performance to the KTM. The KTM may be $3,000 more but you could spend $5,000 on the Buell and it still won't be in the same league.

Hey Neb, go back to the Ducati board or whatever, you troll. The Buell will kick the cardboard fold-up KTM's butt over and over and over. And it will be a real pleasure to do so.

That KTM looks OK, but compared to the 1125R it looks like some origami gone bad...

Well, the jury is still out on the KTM, but I will be waiting patiently. If it turns out crappy, well, then I'll have to continue looking. So far, the KTM is only rated at 125-130 crankshaft hp. They've taken so long to develop it, the competition has passed them by. The styling is oragami-like, but it's still in the pre-production phase. They have time to upgrade everything. We'll see. Ducati is developing a new Monster too. Rumor has it that the water cooled Monster RS4 is out because a new naked based off the 1098 is coming. That should be interesting.

"what's up with the America's Cup "yacht" stuck under it?"

That sh&* is funny! Hey, looks better than the bananna underneath the 1125R though!

What RC8? Are you willing to wait forever?

The RC8 is powered by the 999cc engine as in the Super Duke, though it is expected to be in an even higher state of tune once production versions roll off the assembly line well into next year. It boasts several technological innovations that set it apart from any other bike on the road. For starters, the area below its seat is the fuel cell, which keeps the machine's center of gravity near the machine's roll axis. And the RC8's dry-sump lubrication system allows the entire exhaust system to sit precisely where it will be most aerodynamic, under the engine, which also helps lower the bike's center of gravity."

Looks like their trying to copy Eriks designs.

I still think Buell should split the exhaust tips so they exit from either side. A tweak here and there wouldn't hurt any. But its still amazing that they are turning the page. Go Buell!

Hey, anony, step over to the garden hose and wash the muck off your boots the troll pulled you into. The high road is dryer. Hold off on the mud slingin' until the dirt bikes arrive, then there will be a good Buell/KTM battleground.

Again....more people dismissing the 1125r before actually seeing one in person....let alone actually RIDING one. The same thing happened when the Uly first popped up. Oh it's fugly this, it ain't no BMW GS that...yet it's been quite successful bringing in riders who would normally never look at a Buell. I think the 1125r is doing the same thing. Just look at the buzz on any motorcycle board. Lots of interest in a brand new bike can do nothing but help Buell in the long run. If you're so narrow minded that you're going to make a decision purely on a photograph than please go ahead and do so. That'll mean one more 1125r will be available for a true motorcycling enthusiast.

Rant off...

Well I have tried the superduke 990 and I can tell you it kick ass but I can't talk about the 1125r just yet since I didn't try it. The only thing I can tell is the new bike better be very powerful cause that superduke is very and it was very close for me to get one instead of a xb but I prefer the very low torque of the xb and the price too.

We have a KTM dealer in town and I've played on the Super Duke and Adventure, both of which I liked a lot. On the other hand, I also liked the Lightning Ss I rode and the Super TT. They are different bikes with different styles and I could live with any of them. That being said, I'm keeping the Blast for awhile because it fits what I need right now.

I find it funny that the only reason you don't like the 1125 is because of the looks, yet you like that KTM!
Personally, I think that KTM looks like something out of the transformers movie gone bad.

I guess it's all personal preference.

If not for the Uly, I would never have considered a Buell. I think the 1125 will have the same effect on folks as yet unknown to the brand. I like it a lot. I hope a 1425cc version of that motor makes it into a true adventure-tourer at some point.

KTM and Aprilla dealers in my area ---NOT. But there is Buell. That is a major concern for new bikes with warrenty items.

Several bike compare with and might be better than the 1125r. Myself is the Aprilla Factory that is LOADED with ohlins shocks, OZ wheels, and tons of CarbonFiber. Sweet. However I don't have access to a dealership and I doubt Aprilla;s have a badweb version of awesome online help.

The 1125r will be improved over the next few years by both the factory and aftermarkets. Till then I'll keep my carbed conversion X1.

Splitting the exhaust may look good on paper, but I suspect the reason both tips are on the same side is to avoid hot exhaust hitting the rubber belt. That would be BAD!

I am happy to see the exhaust on the RIGHT this time. That way, when I'm idling at a traffic light, the exhaust isn't baking my ankle...
