Gripe, Gripe, Gripe, Moan, moan, moan, B&*^%, B*&^%, B*&^%. Buell makes a great bike. (Period) If you don't like this or that about the bike that you own, or plan to buy, then CHANGE IT on yours. Those in E. Troy are making a bike to fit SEVERAL different classes of riders. No one knows what the final outcome/finish of this will be, until it hits the showrooms. We see what the general looks will be, but there are probably still changes to the finished product to be made. The aftermarket industry is just that, a way to change your bike to your liking. Yes, there are probably a few changes that I would make to this bike, but those would be to suit me.
If I wanted to fit into the crowd, I wouldn't have bought a Buell. If all else fails, have some whine with your WI cheese.

I have always said that if they built a bike just the way I wanted right from the factory they would either only sell one of them to me because I would buy it, or worse , they would sell the hell out of them and I would never be able to find mine in the parking lot. Its YOUR bike, make it your own. Hell everybody does already ;)

my favorite thing ive been reading here are the posts about how now that erik is bring out this bike, they act like the guy is coming over to their house and making them exchange their xb or whatever for this new one.

they complain like theyre forced to have this bike.

just because erik is adding this bike to the line-up your bike is not changing, even if you hate the 1125, your bike is still the same air cooled bike that you love.

so, no, theres no need for buell to just shut down their factory now.

Any carping about the looks of any of the models is at some level laughable - who has kept one of these things in stock form anyway?

I can't complain...the closest thing Buell has built to my dream bike is the '96 S1 Lighting that happens to be sitting in my living room right now.

It's impossible to build a bike to fit everybody, but with this bike especially it looks like Buell has come a long way in building a sportbike that makes a damn good compromise to fit most people and fill most roles.

I haven't read ONE post yet where someone said they HATED the new bike. Some have taken issue with the aesthetics. Looks DO matter to many people or we all would be riding around in tiny little cube cars wearing drab clothing. Not everything can be changed or fixed in the aftermarket nor does everyone desire to spend the time and energy doing so. There is nothing wrong with constructive criticism. Companies have focus groups for their products all the time. When you take a demo ride you're asked to fill out a comment form. Riders will demo the new bike and comments will be gathered and analyzed and you can bet Buell won't be sitting around posting people are whiners because they have the nerve to give an opinion. If the numbers warrant change - change will come. The true success of the 1125 will be reflected in the sales numbers. I believe most, if not all, of the members of the BadWeb wish only the best for Buell and it is to that end we share our honest opinions.

one guy said this...

A shortstroke,dohc,4 valve watercooled engine?

Why should I buy/ride that?
The difference, the uniqueness that was the trademark of Buell,is not available anymore.

I´m stunned and more than disappointed. They should close the Buell factory down.

ya, i dont think he hates it.

I'm with Ducxl
My one and only gripe is that I can't afford one either.

I'll just have to be patient for a couple years and try not to make any bitter jealous remarks to 1125R owners out of envy : )

Yea 40000 grand for 425lbs 120hp. Says you can by a kit to have it make up to 180hp but that is extra. Not knocking Roehr, their bike looks very nice. But I love ducs and that bike looks to be a cross between a 999 and a 916. 999 front and 916 tail. Not cutting the mustard come on really?

I'm with ya on that, it's a nice looking bike. BUT 5 SPEED TRANNY, 120 HP and 430lbs. I'll pass the guy on that with the new 1125R and still have money to eat at the restaurant I just beat him to.

Tattsailor must be a real moron. This Roehr looks like a bad Chinese knockoff of a Ducati powered by an engine designed for a cruiser. This is the "real sportbike" you've been waiting for? And it's only $40,000!!??!?!? Where do I sign up! And where the hell am I going to get service for this over-priced morphodite? Oh I forgot, if I can afford $40,000 for the bike I'll probably hire my own mechanic to do all the work for me while I'm checking my stock portfolio drinking Cristal. And has anyone ever seen one of these on the road, or just this photoshop picture from the web? Does this company even exist or is Roehr waiting for your $40,000 so he can start buying parts from other companies to build your bike in his garage? C'mon people, think a little before you post something this outrageously shortsighted.

Read his profile, he 'wants a V-Rod motor on a sportbike'...

Sounds a bit confused!

actually the guy that created the ROEHR motorcycles seems to be a stand up guy seeing as how he was recently on this board comending Buell for coming out with this new bike and he seems to be a stand up guy to do such a thing. His bike does seem to be over priced and over wheighted but at least he is trying to follow his dream. If i had 40,000 to spend on a motorcycle i dont think it would go twards that one i think i would go get me either a xbrr, an old street version vr1000 or one of those street version motogp bikes ducati came out with but thats just me. and those are my 3 unatanible dream bikes. (every body has to have at least on dream bike they could never afford.)

I think Buell is right on target with the 1125R. It's priced reasonably for a low production motorcycle with some nice standard equipment.

It's not supposed to compete with the literbike race replicas. It's supposed to offer an alternative. Strong useable power in a great handling chassis.

Even if I could afford the best handling, most powerful sportbike on the planet, I don't have the skill to ride it to its potential. It would just suck to have a $40,000 bike and get passed by an SV650 on the track. LOL! : )

Odd stying but, it might grow on you... I love the idea of using the rotax engine, and I'm glad to see that they are willing to stray from the Harley mill. I love my xb12s with it's current powerplant, with it's thumping vibes and pounding torque. While it does lack in some areas but, not in character. I remember seeing a one off bike, some years back that was powered by a rotax engine, and wondered why the hell people were not putting these lightweight compact beasts in sportbikes... now they are. I for one LOVE the firebolt styling... I always felt that they were spot on in that department, as far as looks are concerned... This one will have to grow on me. Looks like some big front end bodywork slapped onto a slender firebolt to me...

Yep, I am going to put a deposit down this week, when I lay my hands on the bucks. Folks I am talking with say OCTOBER and it's going to be by allotment not order, so the first ones may go fast. They'll ramp up pretty quick over the winter so the numbers in the spring should be real solid, just a best guess.

The only downfall I can see to this new piece of enjoyment, is that there won't be enough to go around at first. But don't get confused. I do NOT want Buell to hold them until they produce a large quantity. Buell needs to continue to sell them as they make them. For a small company, they are doing a great job in fulfilling our wishlists. Thanks Erik and the Buell family for the great products that you are providing. I only wish that I could be one of the lucky ones to get an 1125R in the next year.
