When folks took the S-2 to task, I tested it the old fashioned way. I sat upon it, pointed it out the drive way and returned home 31 days and 37 states later.

That's the way I'm going to test my new Buells(s).

Everything is is, in my mind, pretty much entertainment.

You're thinking about more than one?

NEWS FLASH: In the September issue, Cycle World finally comes though with a cover story "EXCLUSIVE: Riding America's New V-twin", one month after its competitor "Motorcyclist" first scooped the new Buell 1125R in its August issue.

Oopps! CW's article is about the S&S X-Wedge, a new cruiser bike. There is absolutely nothing in the Sept. issue about the Buell 1125R...two months after that "anti-Buell rag" Motorcyclist scooped the new Buell. I guess CW didn't get a secret heads up by Steve A after all...but shucks, they must have got the press release from Buell. What is up with that?

Integrity and honor.

"I have an S2 and you couldn't rev one to 8 grand if you wanted to...it had a rev limiter set at 6250 RPM. You must be confused"

Care to make a wager on that? Give me any Buell that is in running condition, even a Blast, and I can take it for a ride and get the engine turning at over 8 grand quite easily.

Jimi I am still betting that CW has an in depth Kevin Cameron story and a real ride test in the next issue while MC will just have a ride

Motorcyclist's issue with Buell stems from a long-term S3-T, I think, that they had and were going to use as a tourer. The frame broke. A variety of gremlins attacked it. It broked down twice on the road. Then the engine literally caught fire. Since the the M2 Cyclone and XBs, they've generally been positive although they questioned the rake and trail of the XB and all of the trilogy of tech as just being gimmicky when it first came out.

I'm so old I actually remember reading all of those through home subscriptions. The burning bike is also why I was so careful in buying the Blast.

There was more, as is often the case, to that then met the eye. I'd share with you that the magazine, once the first thing went wrong, followed a "let's touch nothing and see how much we can rag this thing before returning it" but my opinion wouldn't be objective.

I'm more concerned about the recent MCN review of the Ulysses. I'm trying to find that bike. I think it would be fun to simply get on it, ride the whompum out of it and see what happens.

Again. . . . my opinion would not be viewed as objective.

If memory serves me right -- and it's more doubtful everyday -- I think they even mentioned that they just let it go to hell to see how far it would collapse. I read some review of the Uly in the European press, I think it may have been MCN, where they purposefully rode the snit out it to try and kill it and came back seriously impressed. That's a reason why I considered buying the Blast.

Do I sound like I just came in on a wagon load of hay? I learned a long time ago not to take "bar-room" type bets. I guess there is a secret method to by-pass the rev limiter in the stock ignition, huh? Or, just get it up to 100 mph and downshift it into 3rd gear and pop the clutch. Care to divulge?

Regarding "integrity and honor"...what do these things have to do with MC mag not running at least a scoop story in the Sept issue after it had received the press release from Buell last month? My comment, "I guess CW didn't get a secret heads up by Steve A after all...", was referring to BadS1's comment, "Cycle World new way before Motorcyclist ever thought about it. Remember Buell has EX-Cycle World Employee... damn its early whats his name again ???"...which I assume he was talking about Steve A. I guess you are talking about Steve A's honesty and integrity kept him from scooping his old mag...that is all well and good (considering he probably would have been fired for pulling such a stunt). That doesn't explain MC's lagging behind Motorcyclist by at least two months on the scoop.

I hope Cameron does run a detailed story on it (although I am betting more on Don Canet), and I know he is going to like it. The question is how long are they going to wait? Where is Reg and Battle2Win when you need it most?
