I'm really pleased with Buell for building the 1125r. I like the company, and their ability to produce such a motorcycle makes me proud.

That said, I'd like to ride one, but I don't see me getting one. I don't need 142 hp, and my drivers license sure doesn't need it.

Of course I bought a Uly and I don't ride off road. What really sold me on the Uly was how comfortable it was. I was on it for 18 hours and 940 miles on Saturday, and it thrills me that I can do that and not be in agonizing pain (it was only semi agonizing.)

I noticed in the 1125r press releases that Buell keeps emphasizing how they designed this bike with rider comfort in mind. Not many people have had a chance to ride it, so we don't know, but it will be interesting if they managed to pull off another Uly and the bike really is a joy to sit on. If this turns out to be a bike that I can knock out 700 mile days on and that is comfortable 2 up, well then things get a lot more interesting. And it just might be. : )

"I don't need 142 hp"
Excuse me for saying so but you must not menton need and motorcycles in the same sentence. No one needs a motorcycle! We want motorcycles and some of us want motorcycles with lots of power, perhaps even too much power.

"Too much power?" I'm having difficulty understanding that phrase. Kinda like "Too much sex" or "Too much money" or even "Too much garlic."

Nope, doesn't compute...

Power requirement is exponential. A 100hp motorcycle will not be twice as fast as a 50hp motorcycle.

146hp will be a nice improvement over what we have now, but it won't wheelie over backward unintentially. I think it will be just what the doctor ordered.

Plenty of controllable power without being peaky or "scary fast" like some of the repli racers.

>>>"I don't need 142 hp"

I don't either, I needed a Uly with heated grips.

Buell cleared the bases with this shot over the fence.

was hoping to see the smaller Junior bags from H&B as accessory items available through Buell for the lightnings and firebolts (hell they make the bigger ones for the uly already)

Jamiec - if you've ever lived with someone (preferably female) you will understand where the phrase "too much garlic" makes perfect sense. Too much garlic = not going to be too much sex.
