this is something... crazy . a lot of us spent a lot of time and money to make power in an old project engine like the v-twin is , just because we like this kind of set : a 250ccs sport frame with a unique big toque engine like the american v-twin is. if you want a bike with power just out of the box , and if you don't like problems just buy a jap...
if this is the next generation of buell engine i will turn back and i will buy another gixxer 1000.
buell for me,and not only for me,was something unique and why not romantic now with this new engine will be one like the others millions are . very disappointed .
i'm curios to ear the opinion of others badwebbers like diablobrian , al , rocketman and all the others who spent a lot of time (and not only time) to make those bikes competitive.

Alessi, this is why they are going to continue making the Lightning and the Firebolt as well. I dont understand why you should bash Buell for a new COMPETITIVE model. This bike will be huge with the younger market, and Buell needed something like this to come along to catch all the rich college kids looking to blow some of dad's money. For those of you that like the air-cooled models, stick with the current models, and give Buell some credit for putting a competitive motorcycle on the tracks and the road.

I'd bet this bike will keep up with the R1's, ZX-10's ect.
it will again loose a bit on the straits but should leave them in the dust in and out of the turns... we will see though

Actually, I find it just the opposite. I have absolutely no use for a gixxer because they are truly useless on the street. I have never enjoyed the so-called "sport bikes" because of their high revving low torque motors until companies starting making v-twins options. Look at the torque curve of that motor. It is basically flat with peak torque across the entire range. Looks the the dyno of a Turbo Audi or VW. They tune motors like that and they are wonderful for every day use. I think the Rotax motors are some of the best on the planet and I love the direction Buell is headed. I just want to see the motor and frame on the Uly now.

The 1150R is the bike we were all being waiting for!

I see the XB12R is improved (new oil pump?) for 2008 as well. So people can make their choice.

Has a dyno chart been posted someplace of the new engine?

I'm Flash-impaired here so if it's on the Buell mini-site could someone capture and post it here someplace? Thanks.

The only question I have is why did they start the plot at 4500rpm? I wanna see what this thing will do off idle.
