WOW........I'm really excited about it!!!

Can't wait to see one in person.
Probably will have to own one!!
Maybe this is why I've been dragging my heels on buying a Firebolt. I knew that they were going to do something, especially when they announced the end of the 9R.

Ok, so someone tell me - what is a "hydraulic vacuum-assist slipper clutch" and how is that better than the clutch on the Firebolts now?

I can't tell from the video, but are we talking chain drive? Maybe a fat 190 rear tire?

Oh wow man. I absolutely have to have one. I am so glad I didn't sell my XB and get a Gixxer like I've been thinking about doing lately. My prayers for a liter class competitive bike from Erik have been answered. Thank you!!!

Looks like the Elves GOT-SOME!

I presume that this is the new "Fire Bolt?"

I wonder if a lightning version will be made.

Ol' Blue anit goin no where but Daymn! I may have to consider further Debit

the topper would be if the engine was of HD or Buell manufacure

The fresh faces { new fans } that HD / Buell is wanting will now appear.

I hope that this is not a limited ed.

Congrats to the hard working team at Buell Motor Co.

I believe - I'm gonna have to get one of those!

That's pretty cool if it all is true. Personally I don't need it. My antiquated motors provide more performance than I need. It will be great for Buell to have a bike that is competitive in the racing arena. It can only help sales. I'd like to know some more regarding maintenance. I doubt it'll have hydraulic valves, so I'd like to know the adjustment intervals. If this bike comes to pass, I think Buell will really have to press for some serious dealer support. This promises to be a bike unlike anything any Buell/HD tech has ever set a wrench upon. I hope it all works out OK.

slipper clutch helps keep ur back wheel from hopping under hard downshifting .

"what is a "hydraulic vacuum-assist slipper clutch" and how is that better than the clutch on the Firebolts now?
That's a couple of good questions. Molly hatchet explained the slipper clutch part, so what is hydraulic vacuum-assist?

Not knowing the technicalities of these parts, may I hazard a guess? I think the hydraulic part is probably clutch actuation using a hydraulic link instead of a cable from the clutch lever to the actuator. The vacuum-assist part most likely is tied to the slipper clutch mechanism so that when there is a high vacuum, the slipper clutch can "slip" but in the absence of high vacuum, there is normal clutch operation.

I think of a slipper clutch as allowing the bike to freewheel like it's in neutral when the throttle gets chopped immediately after a hard accel. They say that they take a little bit of getting used to.The engine doesn't drag speed down anymore.

Psst, Dave...
New forks, new color(s?), major engine upgrades (ignition, oil pump, new throttle bodies), heated grips... That's all I was able to figure out from looking at it on the assembly line. Probably a lot more that I missed.
You know, the usual "Bold New Graphics".

Don't hold your breath. Mr. Buell said at Homecoming, when asked about stand alone dealerships, that it makes no sense. He appeared committed to HD dealerships.

"..what is a "hydraulic vacuum-assist slipper clutch"..."

The vacuum assist would provide the pulling force to operate the clutch.

The hydraulic part would likely the control from the handlebar that controls a modulated valve on the vacuum assist thingy.

The slipper clutch lets the driveline overrun the transmission and engine during downshifts. It is not likely to be a fully freewheeling thing, but more like severely reduced backloading during fast downshifts.

Imagine what happens when you downshift and don't throttle match the engine RPM to the driveline. That forward jerk thing that can overload a heavily loaded with braking front end (Hello Mr. Lowside!) won't happen as easily with the slipper clutch.

And that sudden forward balance shift and decrease in rear tire weighting/drag that can let the rear tire kick out (Hello Mr. Highside!) won't happen as easily.

This puts some serious power in the hands of street riders, I'm wondering if that has ABS yet? Of if it will eventually?

Jack

OK, I see how it is. I go to bed early ONE time, w/o checking the board, and you drop this on me!!! It's alright, as I expect there will be one to drool ove..... look at at Laguna, so I only have 12 days to wait. YeeHaa!
As to the vacuum-assist hydraulic clutch, think "power brakes" on your car. And the "Rider Comfort Zone" sounds a lot like ad-speak for "the fairing and windscreen work".
This may make an XB12TT more affordable!!! Wouldn't that be too cool!!!

It is actually "Rider Quiet Zone", I am guessing this means the exhaust no longer resonates in your helmet and I might be able to ride without ear plugs!

I have to wear ear plugs with my ST1300 because the wind noise on it is much worse than the Buell.

With the kind of HP and RPM this bike makes, I'm thinkin' OHC type engine... therefore, no hydralic lifters. (ie. no lifters and no pushrods at all.) I still think this engine of based around the VR engine. Take todays technology and Eric and his team to fine-tune it and you've got sumthin'!! Proud as a Buell Pegasus! :-) (peacock just didn't sound right)

Dang! Just got home from ~220 miles on the road thinking the website was going to be updated by now. I hope it's not 4:30 CDT; I may be able to hold out until 4:30 EDT but an extra hour may do me in...

This is harder than waiting on Christmas morning when I was a kid!
