Again Congrats:

I speculate that after the unveiling there will be a flurry of activity in Japan reguarding this new player
As the spec sheet wars heat up again,
IMO The only thing that the competitors had was speed / hp spec, that advantage is now nill.

So in the words of my generation
GET SOME!!

Oh yeah Go Buell!

This is most incredibly cool. Three things came to my mind after sleeping on this:

1- Steve Anderson didn't just move from Cycle World to Buell to work on the XBRR.

2- The main purpose of the XBRR may have been to verify that an XB chassis would work with 150+ HP in real-world testing.

3- The sales success of the Ulysses produced the profits at Buell that allowed the development of this new bike to happen.

Don't know if I'll ever own one, but I dang sure want to demo one!

My congratulations to Buell, very well done!
I have complete faith in Buell, despite all
the bitching about where everything is made
or how the air-cooled Buells are the "real"
ones.

Its all non-sense, all the Buells have their
own upsides and they are all wonderful
machines. No matter what everyone says, I
can say with certainty that Buell has
designed this machine to be fantastic and
for our benefit and enjoyment.

In fact I am so confident in Buell that I am
willing to buy it without ever test riding
it, because I know it will be great.

Erik and the Buell design team, I applaud you!

Suggested retail - $11,995.
That loud "thud" you heard was Ducati and Aprilia owners falling backward out of their chairs.

Steve Anderson didn't just move from Cycle World to Buell to work on the XBRR.

That is very true, but the engineering leader of the 1125R team is ex-racecar driver Tony Stefanelli. Tony deserves a big round of applause for the 1125.

There are numerous things learned from the XBRR that got incorporated into the 1125, and according to J. McWilliams, he really likes the handling. He was getting around one circuit on a stock 1125 on DOT tires only slightly slower than on an XBRR on slicks.

Afraid to spoil the party as I love it and want one but is it going to be able to race anywhere with over 1000cc's?

World Superbike very recently upped the displacement limit to 1200cc for V-twins after lobbying by Ducati.

nice bike, even if it never races anywhere. takes a lot of money to race. I wonder if buell can keep up with the production. they only do 50 bikes daily at the plant now.....rex

That is no longer accurate and was a huge factor.

Go Buell indeed!

What a magnificent motorcycle. Most definitely exceeds my expectations. Simply brilliant. Fast and handsome; rolling on a state-of-the-art chassis and loaded with the usual Buell innovative ideas from one end to the other. I doff my hat and give a deep bow to Erik and the whole Buell engineering team for a job well done---Bravo!

I've read some criticism of the bike's appearance, but I don't agree... I think it looks killer. It carries forward the stylistic themes stated in the 12R series, and then goes further, as it must in order to accommodate the new structural and cooling requirements. It most certainly does not look like just another Japanese sportbike, nor does it attempt to copy Italian themes... thank God for that. Buells must always go their own way---that's one of the reasons I'm so proud of this little company.

And to all the nay-sayers and to those who have spent the last few years bitching and moaning without end about Buell's air-cooled sportbikes (which are still great machines on their own merits) I say: well here it is, boys... the Buell superbike you always wanted. Now shut the eff up and get your damn money on the table! Heh heh!

Hey Josh, what were the conditions??

This bike in a "T" might bring some of us "Tubers" back into the fold.

Congrats to all of Buell for taking a BIG leap in technology. I'm sure the first step off the edge was waaay scary.

>Hey Josh, what were the conditions??

that I pay off the FJR before this arrives
I dunno, she seems to have doubts about the long-distance comfort of the back seat.

She loves the mini-site with all the design-analysis stuff, and she liked the side-scoops!. I bet she'll try to ride it if I don't hide the keys.

I need to start calling dealers...

I may be paying off my debts too. That makes me think...... Deb loves the ST and I have 3 more years on the warrenty......Since she only rides with me 15% of the time, maybe a 1125RT is in my future?????
