I don't suppose anyone has some trailer space and going to pick up stuff via central Illinois?

My truck broke down yesterday and I was supposed to pick up my stuff today.

That kind of tells you where the market is... There is no market for this line of products. They may take a bath on this purchase.

Proves a point I tried making to someone on Facebook. He was trying to be optimistic about the many aftermarket parts for Buells. They're a niche product with a relatively small following. For most third party fabricators Buell parts are not and will not be worth the effort and material to make and sell.

Take good care of your bikes guys.

Here's the latest from LAP; various prototype/test bikes:

http://www.liquidap.com/portfolio/testbikes/

All come without title or manufacturer's certificate of origin, which may make licensing difficult or impossible depending on your state's laws. "Estimated values" seem to be for mint-condition low mileage used bikes.

They probably drove it around near the factory all camouflaged like that just to see how long it took before people posted "AX spy photos" online

It ALWAYS is . . . . I, anonymously, showed up in some dealers and bought some interesting bikes.

The real AX prototype is probably parked in Erik's garage equipped with Chongqing-Zonfgshen hardbags and other cosmetics. If anybody happened to spot the AX out on the road and ask about it, they could trot the Chinese bike out and say, "Oh, this is what you saw."

With Air Ride! Kind of a big compressor for that air system, most of the rest of us get by with a Viair 9x series. Same for the valves, seem very large to handle the modest pressures in one of these systems.

No titles so for most people they were only good for collections.

I'm sick to my stomach see everything Buell worked for being sold off like an estate sale. The tall handlebar 1190NX was interesting. Combine that with the air suspension Buell was working on makes you think he was gonna come up with an Adventure bike that would crush the completion.

Sure would have been nice to flat foot an X in the parking lot. Then have full suspension when rolling. How about an automatic center stand when parked. Easy to hold up while Momma climbed on. The larger compressor eliminated the need for an air tank to store air used just to raise it to ride height. Could use a tank for softening the air ride. How about auto inflate for the front forks under heavy braking?

Don't assume that a test rig, using air, indicated any sort of an "air" suspension.

You are thinking throttle advance on the steering column.

Open your mind . . .

Considering you can see airlines connected to the front forks, I'd say it has air ride of some kind. Could be adaptive suspension, or just driver customization.

Yes, a sad end to Buell but at least we can still ride Erik's creations.
They may have their flaws but they sure are fun to ride!

Thank you Court. There are a lot of things air could actuate. Could even throw in some vacuum. Got my mind swimming now. Thanks a lot.

Air also makes a suitable vehicle for a means/methods not yet developed.

To really condition your mind . . . take a close look at the Ion and move from that mindset.

If you can't see over the hill . . . if just won't work.

Some people have to go so far as to read Miller's Bolt to condition.

Erik Buell is a genius, not just a smart engineer.

He'd slap me for saying that but look at some of his patents . . . for things like public transportation, water systems and well . . how about the 2 bicycles that got interrupted when Harley-Davidson came on board in 1992.

You have no idea what your mind can do . . . . or where it can take you.

Is that the book where Jim Manion thought he was going to get fired, and turned it all around?

If so, some of the things I remember, I remember in detail, like Miller's Bolt.
Problem is I have other memories just as detailed, that never even happened.
