I want to share this exciting news with you guys on the other side of the Atlantic. After 13 years of hoping and dreaming, its actually going to happen in the

Jane and I received this message from Erik Buell today, public confirmation that he and his wife, Tish will be attending our main event on Monday 29th May 2017.

Chris

Tish and I are looking forward to attending the 2017 Emma Radford Memorial at the Aviation Center in May. It has truly been heart-warming to see the success of this fundraising year after year. Emma Radford was a perfect example of someone who got so much out of a too short life. A life well lived and well loved.

There is no question that amazing and caring people make up Buell and EBR riders worldwide, and this event has brought their kindness and optimism directly to these Cystic Fibrosis patients. Thanks to Chris, Jane, and all from the UK Buell Enthusiasts Group who have led the way to make this possible.

It will be great to see everyone!

Erik

That is very cool and you guys will have the time of your life. The UK Buell Enthusiasts Group has been huge in the history of Buell.

When Buell first started one of the first folks to make contact with me was a gentleman in the UK who constantly kept me apprised of the riding habits of the Brits and helped me find things such as events to showcase the Buells.

This is going to a great experience for both Erik and our UK friends . . . . major excitement!

This is exciting.

Is this an indicator that the EBR bikes will be sold in Europe?

Stevel - I'm told it will be 2018 at the earliest before the EBR's are suitable for sale in Europe.

Court - thanks for those kind words. It will be a fantastic event and one which is eagerly anticipated by European Buell/EBR enthusiasts.

It's a small world, together with Dave Gess and Erik, you signed our copy of the '25 Years Of Buell' book at the Buell Plant in July 2008.

I'd say yes, although it sounds like it will be some time before this happens. This news item was posted to EBR's website back in May:

http://www.erikbuellracing.com/single-post/2016/05 /27/EBR-Motorcycles-Announces-Parts-and-Support-fo r-Europe

quote:

We are very aware of the recent European regulatory changes, and are working as our resources permit towards a full return to that market with new EBR motorcycle sales. NCCR will help us to maintain existing EBR bikes and relationships until that time.

Despite the recent announcement that EBR Motorcycles are to wind down operations, Erik Buell has confirmed that he will still attend our event in May.

In his own words 'I will keep my promise'..

What a guy!!

>>>'I will keep my promise'..

I've known Erik since 1987 . . . I could have told you he'd be there. Through up and down . . . good and bad . . . he's never failed to keep a promise.

I have more good news . . . you'll have a spectacular time. Erik is a warrior. On the day that Buell took it's greatest ass-kicking (one of them) ever . . . no sooner had the dust cleared than Erik drove 50 miles to spend the evening with Buell owners and enthusiasts . . he never ducked a question, played coy or went "corporate".

He is as genuine as they get.

I've got a lot to say about the events of the last couple years. But for now . . . just plan on having a spectacular time. The men and women of the UK have played, since the days I had an operative sitting on a corner in London, counting motorcycle commuters and sending Erik briefings about the opportunity of entering the European market.

Fun stuff . . in those days . . in was CompuServe and one of our "Go Ride" (the original Buell forum) members, Matt, who was doing the spying.

I can't wait to hear about the event . . . you guys ROCK!

Erik is one of the most fun and interesting people to talk to....a real idol and a person to look up to. Have a great time!

All of us on this side of the 'pond' are looking forwards to Erik's visit with great excitement and anticipation.

Depending on what happens in the future it may well be his last appearance at a Buell/EBR event in Europe, which will make our event in May even more special.

Timing is everything, the announcement by EBR that they were winding down operations came just 24 hours before we had a planning meeting at the Aviation Centre where the event is being held.

I thought that the last thing Erik needs is an email from England seeking confirmation that he's still coming over, but he responded on the same day so we could go ahead with the meeting.

What a guy!

Chris:

With all the enthusiasm you guys in the UK have . . . . I wouldn't even let it slow me down. Enjoy the time, tell some stories and celebrate all the friends, memories and great times you have had as the direct result of Erik's work.

There'll be time and talent to sort out the commercial issues . . .

Enjoy,
Court

The old ukbeg.com website and forum is currently experiencing technical difficulties and can be offline at times.

Our main event on the 29th May with Erik Buell as the guest of honour will now be run through our own website. Please visit http://www.ukbuellgroup.co.uk for up to date information. It also features an updated version of the event poster.
