if i couldn't have my lightning, i would have a speed triple.
after that i would have to build my own i guess. |

Like so many other posts, I will never again own another Harley. I recently bought an 08 BMW 1200 GS with 1100 miles on it, instead of the Fatboy I've always wanted and that sale was a direct result of Harley's prices and for how they did Buell. If they hadn't closed Buell down, I might have been willing to haggle with some of the dealers around here on price, but now, they can kiss my whole, entire ass. |

I have bought two Hinckley Triumphs new and have had zero warranty or recall repairs. Compare to all the recalls on the S3's I've owned and the 5 times my money back I got on a 5 year warranty on an Electra Glide. I think the part of the Triumph story that applies to us Buell owners is how easy it is to get parts to keep the old Meriden Triumphs running. It's easier now to get repro parts for old British bikes than when they were in business. If the following for Buell's stays strong, hopefully there will be a market 20-30 years from now for companies to make replacement parts to restore and keep our bikes running. |

LJM, I think you have not giving the 1125R a chance.
I have to tell you that I have done a 16 hour ride on the 1125R with no sleep , just stop, eat, fuel and go and the biggest surprise is how little tired I felt after that. I rode it thru a thunder storm and sunny weather and the bike felt smooth thru all weathers.
The best part was at every stop people saying , hey nice bike is it a Ducati.
Even a state trooper was surprised HD could sell such a nice bike.
anyways, maybe it could be because I stay in shape but Honestly I think anyone riding that long would fell the same experience |

I have to say that I am very happy with the bike overall. I know some folks have had trouble with the riding position and raised the bars but that hasn't bothered me. The seat is a little hard and I think I will buy a corbin eventually here and should be fine. My wife likes her corbin and says it makes a world of difference. My next change though will probably be dropping the pegs an inch. Broken knee hurts after a while and figure that will take care of it.
But overall, like the bike and don't plan to trade it off until it dies from old age and high miles. Buell hit a home run there and can't wait to see what is next in the coming years. LJM |

Lots of passion and dedication here... very cool.
I just keep telling my self... Harley Davidson (the motorcycle) didn't get rid of Buell... Wandell did. Wandell IS NOT Harley Davidson.
He has no concept of running a company which produces a product based on American heritage and engineering.
I'm sure he did a great job at Johnsons Controls, but I can't imagine how many people are passionate about the manufacturing process of car batteries and electronics. I'm sure his 'business model' works great in HIS type of industry... but certainly not in OURS.
I checked out the Eric Buell Racing site the other day and it gave me hope that someday I can buy a true Buell. |
