Have anyone else noticed that Buell is now being Viewed as a company was lead by one the last blue collar visionaries in America . Erik Buell and The Buell motorcycle company has become a Martyr for the independent working class man who wants to succeed and achieve the american dream . But was shut down by the fat cat hiarchy of Harley Davidson. So that they may continue thier selfish arrogent high handed ways. Because unlike us, who have to make sacrafices in these hard times. They have the power to just cut the little guy off and discard him like unwanted garbage .

Right or wrong , this seems to be what motorcyclist, the Media AND the general pulic view of all this closure.
If I was a betting man I would lay odds that Erik Buells heart wrenched you tube Video will be pulled if this public perception continues

It has already been pulled from the Buell home page a while ago.

I still don't understand why ...and can't believe .. why would you just erase the coolest looking, sounding, handling motorcycles ever built ... with the stroke of a pen. Soooo sad! Shame on H.D. They will regret this!

It seems to me that H.D will bring back some of the models to be renamed H.D.It doesn't make sense to close out these on a permanent basis. The motor co. has way too much invested and has alot of patents to just flush it down the toilet.Thats my 2cnts.

Say one in every hundred Harley owners has a buell, or one in every ten Buell owners has a Harley. To just drop Buell like that was even internally a blunder. Next on the chopping block is VROD, (my guess). Buell is unlikely to come back, even in a limited amount, I believe the damage is irreversable. Sportster also sounds at risk for a hiatus. People who own Buells will be venting for a long time, and will have a disasterous effect on HD in the long run. They may not get even, but instead not buy HD again. The numbers are nothing to scoff at as far as Buell owners are concerned, thats probably several thousand no-buys now from this mistake. Harley has recently become the brunt of 'fag jokes' and I don't see that abating any time soon. And to a certain degree its true, that is, the way that HD riders behave with noise and poser stuff. In allot of cases the core group buying Harleys is getting to their 60's now, so that market is quickly dwindeling down. There are so many more bikes out there for less money and better quality that it was sure to happen sometime, when appearance washed out to performance/price. Yea, they did make Buell a Martyr..........so be it.

I doubt if the Sportster is at risk. It is my understanding that line is far and away the top selling line of HD bikes. Even they aren't THAT stupid..........

I don't know if it is still true but the percent of profit on the Sportster line isn't as great as the big twins. It would be just like them to restrict the supply in an attempt to sell more big twins.

If I could invest in a "new Buell", I would.

I could invest in Harley Davidson (and did last year, and tripled my money). I'm not. Sold every last share on Oct 15th, when it became clear that the market probably *was* right to value HD stock at $6 per share...

Harley-Davidson is showing up on a couple short lists . . . I'm going to see if I can make the same money on it going down as I did coming up.

We sold within a week after HD's Buell emancipation mistake.

I don't care about HD and quite frankly plan on moth balling my HD jacket. Unless they do something so spectacular it takes your breath away they will not get another cent of my money. Bunch of decrepit coffee drinking bean counters living in the past. Screw em all!

Got rid of all my HD stuff. I remember seeing a t-shirt about 25 years ago that looked like a HD shirt, but as you got closer to see it, it said: "Hardly Dangerous". No doubt, no doubt, the HD ship anchors are slow and outdated. Just as propeller fighter planes, steam trains and bolt action rifles are a thing of the past. Harley Davidson is "dead bike riding" and doesn't even know it. Maybe another year of Buell wins at the track, someone will show up with some backing and the company will rise again. Just in time to see the HD Titanic sink!

Mr. Erick;
Surely you - let me - has received numerous messages of hope,
but here in Brazil we are all confident that a solution is found,
it is not credible that a brand like Buell is simply closed at the best stage!
The revolt is unanimous!
I had the pleasure to meet you on the anniversary of 25 years and simply
do not believe what happened, I think the Buell will be reborn under another name.

Eduardo,

Thank you for the kind words. Buell is truly gone from manufacturing motorcycles, but it lives on in our riders' hands.

May all your roads be beautiful,

Erik

I must confess; I still believe...

I have tears on my eyes...

Thatīs all folks.

I doubt it will happen, unless it is picked up by an outside source and then I doubt Eric himself will have anything to do with it.

HD did them in and I bet they tied it up quite nicely.

where did you get that logo because their we site has not updated in a while!
It does look good though, it should be in a shield like background. Like Ducati
shields give some sort of perception as if its an elite.
I want one for my Buells

If EBR develops his team and it gets some wins I can see investors willing to make offers to Erick's company which who knows what Erick would think of doing.
I do think good things will come with time.
I see more buellers on streets more then ever.
Most of the time I am not the only Buller in a sportbike ride anymore.
and its not bad when 2 or 3 of 15 bikes are buells.
my neighbor just surprised me this morning with the news he traded his HD for a Buell.
; )
he said that HD is just not fun to ride.
he had a huge smile when I saw him
thanks for developing a great product Buell.
