Harley may move jobs to cut costs

Harley-Davidson Inc. is evaluating whether to relocate work from York, Pa., its largest production site, to cut costs.

The company told workers this week that those operations, which employ 2,400, aren't competitive. The Milwaukee company will assess the plant during the next several months and hold talks with union members.

New news or old stuff just making it to the left Coast?

The unions are killing our American companies. I wonder if there is a document out there with all the companies that have gone out of business becuase of Unions.
GM,Crhysler, Giant Food Store are some of the victims of unions.

It's a funny thing how violently people react to mention of unions. Unions are a simple thing: a majority of workers in a factory demand to negotiate with an employer. That's it.
Read up on it here. Where I grabbed my response:

While unions have problems ( and even cause them ) without unions the American people would have never enjoyed safe working conditions. The unions in this country pushed for safety in the workplace, not employers. Look up the history of unions and see if you would want to live where the employer had all the power and you were expendable.

Buell2001b you are pretty ignorant! That document you want to see would quite possibly be the shortest document you ever read! Unions (employees) don't drive companies out of business, bad management decisions drive companies out of business! Puleeeeez, give me a freakn break!!!!

Jusak, you are the ignorant that has no idea what drives prices up of products and eventually companies out of buisness. While a Ford employee makes $40 per hour a Toyota employee in the US makes 22 for the same job.
you do know how to add right. If you pay higher labor you have to raise the price of the product.
Whats even worst is when toyota pays a person in their country $12 for the same job.
and what is even worst is watching all these rednecks driving toyota casue they can't afford to drive ford and yet they call themselves Americans.
