Seems to me like it'd be time to close this thread.

Now, if we'd all been sitting in a bar drinking, as has been said, we'd be having a good laugh and buy another round and keep the tire kicking and lying going.

But we're not in a bar having a laugh, so everyone please stop and back off.

I realize that threads like this one come around and go to hell once in awhile - but now that we all know that's where this one is heading, can we just let it die ... preferably in peace.

{posted my last on the matter. }

Blake asked me to ease up on Anony.

'Matter' refers to criticizing the XBRR at the 200.

Don't think for a minute I'm gonna shut my mouth while you, Mr Infallible and the worlds best engineer take the pissout of me.

I've a suggestion. Why don't you shut your mouth, then I'll shut mine. That's a "real solution" that's come out of internet discussion.

It does need closing down when one can't offer up sensible criticism of anything associated with Buell without getting insulted personally by the hierarchy.

To those who did read sense in my posts, my apologies for this thread going off the rails.

It would have been nice if the Anonys could have responded without the childish remarks but it seems they're beyond criticism. We might have had an intelligent conversation otherwise, like I did today with STM.

I saw the funniest bumper sticker leaving the AMA Flat Track races:

"3 and Elvis - they're dead, get over it"

I don't care if it's even applicable to this thread. It's a cool bumper sticker (unless you're a NA$CAR or Elvis fan)

It wasn't too long into this thread that I'd decided that Sean's intention was to get flamed by Anony so he could publicly gloat about it somewhere. There's probably a community somewhere of people that have been mildly flamed by Anony and just can't hack it. Seem like a pointless endeavor to me but hey... to each their own right?

Trolling of the highest order IMO.

I mean really Sean... You don't think that BMC both knows WHAT the problem is and are hard at the helm looking for a solution? I know you know that Sean. The solution will be found. I know you know that too...

You see, there are at least three or four people that I know of that exhibit behavior very much akin to what "I" seem to see here. You typically don't partake that much (and I thank you for it, you're typically somewhat refined in that you'll state your peace and than be done with it) but this... this seems to be a concerted effort.

Derisive personal commentary simply has no place on BadWeB. I'd ask that all so-engaged please avoid any further posting of such content.

Let no one imagine that had the Buell teams finished well in the 200, that all here would not be joined unanimously in applause and celebration.

Lacking that scenario, :/ is it maybe how we offer criticism that makes all the difference? Is not thoughtfully and respectfully presented criticism appreciated and well received? Should we expect anything positive from blaming, confrontational and derisive criticism, or does such commentary really only foment bitterness and hard feelings?

Whether reflecting an author's intentions or not, I think that readers' perceptions do count. Authors of the written word often do well to ensure that their good intentions, respectfullness, positive intent, and good humour are well understood where any critical commentary is offered. We can help ensure that our well-intended critical words are not misunderstood by including various emoticon/smilies and by simply stating so in clear unmistakable friendly words. Sometimes that can make all the difference to those of us with large yet delicate egos. : ]

Call me a learned subject of the internet discussion board school of misperceptions and miscommunications. : ] Still working on my PhD though. : )

Is it not simply best to avoid entirely any and all critical personal commentary in favor of sticking to the topical subject matter? Would that not includes pointing fingers of blame at others one might perceive as instigating an unfortunate online public melé?

I for one am looking forward to the inevitable future successes of the Buell XBRR racers/teams in AMA FX and any other racing series they might contest.

Can I get a GO Buell Racing!! ?

: )

Maybe I misunderstand some of the sentiments expressed above. If so, never mind and call me silly. : ) I'd just like to say in apparent disagreement with some here that in the last eight years I've seen a virtual cornucopia of "real solutions" result from internet discussions. In fact, I'm confident in saying that internet discussions have likely helped formulate, reveal and facilitate many a solution for many a Buell enthusiast. My take is that the internet, for all its pitfalls and unfortunate egocentric dialogue, flat out rocks in its unprecedented ability to foster productive discussion and to diseminate valuable information (solutions).

Am I really wrong in that view?

Of course if one tried, one could likely fit a whole lot into one shoebox. : ) After all the entirety of BadWeB would likely fit onto just a couple DVDs. : )

HOO HAH! oops, I mean
GO Buell Racing!!

So, plans are in the works to get a slipper clutch designed and working for the XBRR.
The ignition timing problem is already solved, it was a one-off prototype part that failed.

The only question still on the table is what went wrong with Cicotto's bike correct?
Possibly a toasted clutch on the start?

Sorry for not falling in line with this current theme of bashing each other to find out who is more buell than though but I have a question for you.

Over the last several yrs, this board has made constant attempts to distance the Buell Motor Co. from the HD mothership on each and every occasion.

But now that there has been some problems in utopia, the blame seems to placed directly on MOFOCO itself. I've seen posts blasting HD techs, dealers and and the HD upper staff in Wis while no one blames the Buell staff for anything.

So I'm wondering, is Buell really a Buell as has been proposed here for the last 5-6 yrs or is Buell a Harley-Davidson sport bike?

My connection speed is certainly up for it, but my typing may not be sufficient; rather than using the 10-finger system, I'm typing as per the Biblical system: "Seek and you shall find."

Visual: Henrik sitting hunched over the keyboard, index finger hovering, hesitating above the keyboard ...

Hi, this is Ed, Henrik's fire instructor.

Henrik was still logged in here when I found him - sitting huddled in a corner slowly rocking back and forth, mumbling to himself about some cast prototype parts Apple had apparently put in his keyboard.

So I thought I'd let you know he may be out of touch for a spell.

But don't worry, I'm sure we'll snap him out of it - now where did Jim put that fire extinguisher ...?

"Seek and you shall find."

Hmmm, reminds me of a comment I heard about the predominantly female typing pool at the predominantly male Pentagon circa 1964 or so.

It was said that most of the typing pool members, regardless of sex, were hunt 'n peckers.
