Man that guy can ride!! He already has the new Buell racing leathers to finish out the season. After they evaluate the needed changes, he could be a force to rekon with. You think HD would pony up some cash to sign him?

God I hope someone does to keep him over here on the Buell.. I haven't heard of his plans for this year so maybe he is available... We need someone like him for sure..

We should all email him to stay over here and consider riding the Buell all season.

Not only is he fast, He is also a very good "developement rider". We definitely need Jeremy.

Not to mention Mike, Rico, and Steve. Why break up a good thing? I think they all showed immense promise.

When will we know more about the rest of the season? Barber is coming up quicker than you think.

It would be great to have Jeremy for the rest of the season but last week while watching the IRTA MotoGP test from Valencia it was mentioned that he had been seen at a undisclosed track testing a new "undisclosed" BMW MotoGP bike for next season. I'll see if I can find a link....

McWilliams is a very very impressive rider. I was hoping to meet him, I have an Irish g/f and I'd have liked to get his autograph for her.

I'd like to send him a note thanking him for the job he did. I know he has a website somewhere. Anyone know the URL?

While we are on the subject, look for Dave Gess to be posting some info later today with contact information.

I think it's CRITICAL that we all take a moment to drop the dealers who made this thing happen a note to say "THANK YOU".

Daytona attendance was up and by gosh it looks like it's starting to feel like racing again!

I figure the best way of thanking Warrs is to order a Jeremy McWilliams XBRR T-shirt from their site. Mine's on its way.

It would be a shame if McWilliams does not finish out the season after his showing at Daytona. Willie G. show him the money!!

PS fix that seat of his - that black tape looked kinda tacky

That's an expensive T-shirt. With shipping, it's going to be over $50 after you convert from GBP to US Dollars. Too rich for my blood.

Warrs has a news item on the Daytona 200. They sure seem VERY positive about it. Be sure and check the "PS" at the very bottom of the page.

Whodom, that was covered elsewhere, the pit crew you are referencing were from Hal's and the problems stemmed from different diameter front stand studs and steering stem holes. Not really surprising with prototype bikes. Time to let that go. The pit stop issue will certainly be addressed before next year.

Diablobrain,

Sorry, didn't mean to beat a dead horse. I guess the Warrs guys really felt like "But it wasn't OUR fault!". OTOH, I'm sure the Hal's guys were pretty down after Mike had a problem so early; at least they were TRYING to help.

I imagine it takes a lot of practice to get flawless pitstops down to a routine, and as we all saw, Duhamel's team pulled a real boner after his crash. If those guys can screw up, anyone can.

Whodom,
it's all good, just trying to clarify what happened.
Not trying to shut you down, just answer the question.
You know what I mean? trying to turn a negative into
a positive. Lesson learned (we hope)it would suck
to have worked so hard to prep for Daytona only to have
the bike drop out on the second lap. The Warr's guys
were being really cool letting the Hal's team in on the
action. I respect that.

Ah, that pit stop. Embarrassing, yes. Jeremy's steering stem had a slightly smaller interior diameter than those of the other bikes, something we didn't realize until far too late. The Warr's team front lift fit, the Hal's team didn't, and we went with the more experienced guys with the wrong stand. No excuses, it wasn't up to the rest of the effort, though everyone was trying hard.

I have to love the mechanism that Jose is showing above that Honda used as a front lift; it likely cost as much as all the lifts for all four of the Buell teams combined . . .

^^^Yeah, but if it makes a fast pitstop, don't you think it'd be worth it?

Well, Honda has a full time physical trainer for the pit crew, too. Worth it? Maybe, if you have it. Neither Buell nor the dealer teams do.

Honda had Supertrapp make them a new exhaust design for Miguel's FX bike for every race last year. 12 exhaust systems at $10,000 each equals $120,000. That's in exhaust systems alone for one bike for one season.

The concept at Buell is to see if you can go FX racing at a reasonable cost for privateers. Obviously what Honda spends is out of reach for anyone else. So how will it all turn out by the end of the year? We'll see, I guess.

<^^^Yeah, but if it makes a fast pitstop, don't you think it'd be worth it?>

It's only worth it if you can afford it. When the bike cost $350000 to build you probaly have a spare $2000 bucks for a custom stand. Not to mention the engineering time to design and build it.

That's incredible! Where can we find more information like this? It sure would be useful for debating the knuckleheads that want to claim the XBRR just as factory as the Hondas/Yamahas.

It should be possible to build a lift rig like that for the Buells - right? If the race muffler has jack points like the stock muffler, wouldn't it then be possible to build supporting blocks into the belly pan and just jack everything from below? Of course the lift unit would have to be *very* low to slip under the bike - but it's a thought.

I think I like WARRS' already.. I wrote them previously asking them to keep racing over here in FX. To use what ever they could (I think I even mentioned blackmail) to keep McW on the bike.. as well as how much Buell fans all over the world appreciated the efforts already put forth.. Any way.. here's the short note I got back..

"Thanks Peter

We'll try our best. Thanks for your kind words.

John "

For those of you that don't know.. that's John Warr.. Gotta love a 'principal' that actually reads and replies to emails about his efforts..
