That pit stop did not happen on Erik's watch.

These guys are as dialed in as a low buck privateer group can be. Can supercharged brains and nitro-fueled enthusiasm beat cubic money?

I am hoping for a top 5 finish. Anything above 7 and you have beaten one of the big players. For a tiny company on a shoestring budget that would be fantastic.

Dave,

That is our hope. You are right on target. This is the start of a long future for Buell back in racing. The Buell teams are where the factory teams were four months ago in terms of getting new product, and the XBRR is not as fully developed as a baseline for them. But they are getting quicker every day, whereas the other guys are running pretty much the same as they have been for months.

Enjoy the show; it won't be a short set of fireworks, but a long running series!

"This is the start of a long future for Buell back in racing."

That is what I've been waiting to hear!!

P.S. Throw some mirrors and lights on it and make it a 07 model (please keep the fairing)

GO BUELL!!}

I got to ride around the track on a parade lap tonight and also got to watch what must have the end of FX practice. The Buells are so quite compared to what I heard a couple of years ago. Those old bikes sounded like stock cars. The new bikes are just a sweet Vtwin sound flying around the track.

I am working on getting my ticket for the 200. Got to find a free one.

I did ride a Ulisis (SP?) yesterday. It was very nice. I couldn't imagine it being that comfortable.

Just got home from Daytona, was at the Noon FX practice, the XBRR looked good, but man, it was almost silent,if your looking for that XR-750 open megaphone sound out on the banking you will be disappointed! Unless they're holding something back we'll be hard pressed to get a top three finish, hope I'm wrong.

>>>>That pit stop did not happen on Erik's watch.

No it did not. He was nowhere near. I was, standing there with Scott Miller, as the fiasco began.

I saw trouble brewing and looked over my shoulder to see the HarleyWood film crew rolling tape.

I watched as Bill Davidson and a bunch gathered round the bike, turned to Scott and said "this is not, as a career move, going to be a good film to appear in" and promptly disappeared into the crowd.

It was after a while Pascale, who at the time had been running in a competative position, got off the bike and tossed him helmet down. The harder those guys tried to unjam that wheel the worse it got. That hurt.

My suspiciation is that the BUELL RACING folks bring a good deal of accumulated knowledge and experience. At the same time you are racing the race, you have to be tending to each detail meticulously.

Wouldn't it be great, in a fantasy world, to have some M.I.T. educated, highly skilled and experienced riders right there tending to the details.

: )

Yes. . . that would be nice.

I'm about to peg the Ex-Cite-O-Mometer!

My 2 cents.... I have to disagree with that. Don't show them anymore than you have to. No reason to give the competition any advantage, no matter how small!!

I have not "shown my hand" in past competitions (non-motorcycle) and it was beneficial. On the flip side, others have "shown their hand" during practice for competition and I was able to use it against them later.

Cicotto's 1:42:031 time has now been deleted from the timing sheets, leaving him with 1:45:94 and languishing in 19th spot. What gives?

Michael Barnes is out with an injury, replaced by Geoff May, so everyone after May moves up one notch.

The Buell teams must be having some significant handling problems that are hurting them in the infield. My fingers are crossed that they get things sorted by Saturday mornings practice.

Well, it's over, and McWilliams found 2 sec to finish with a 1.42.5. He will start 8th, on the second row. The difference is only 1.6 to the pole, and if the Buells are still running without qualifiers, that amounts to almost nothing. I can hardly wait until the race.

Congratulations to the Buell factory and Dealership race teams.

A second row 8th place means McWilliams will be right behind Duhamel on the start.

14, 15, 16 means that 3 Buell riders can hang together and get something going on the high banking if they hang together.

What impresses me is Williams is fronted only by big names on seemingly quicker Japanese fours. That is the mettle of Jezza!!!!!!

Best I can say is, those cats at Buell had better give him a good ride on Saturday or I'll be having words LOL

Wow! I buy my bikes for the street, but Buell is going to make a race enthusiast of me yet. I think I will even join the AMA this year. Not because they gave Buell an unfair advantage, but because they are finally being rational about it.

I know the AMA and AMA pro racing are supposed to be independent, but I don't buy it. Either own the product or take away the name, you can't have it both ways. Now I don't have to hold my nose from one to join the other.

Go Buell! Go Buell Racers! Go McWilliams!

All I can say is EXCELLENT!!

We are in the hunt for sure.
The Daytona 200 is a fickle race - anything can happen. They way I see it we stand as good a chance as anyone to win this thing!

Good work and good luck to the four Buell teams!

Do any of you guys realize how incredibly difficult it is to be one of the top ten qualifiers in the Daytona 200? On a brand new unproven bike no less? Let's just pray we have reliability, that is yet to be proven. Saturday will be the test.

This is really exciting. 8th place on a new bike in its first race. Very respectable showing the first time around.

And it's only getting better from here. American bikes are racing again.

Rocket the man is a genius. And he is winning the Northern Ireland cup race by a good bit at this point. I see Alistar Seeley running also. Maybe Daytona will become a warmup race for the Iris Road Race Championship ;)

I'm curious what kind of fuel mileage the XBRR gets at Daytona..... I know the inline fours guzzle the fuel when run wide open - that could be our ace in the hole
