The Nasayers best read some racing History, yeah it's a Harley engine, Lets see, 45 degree, 2 valve, air cooled, single crank pin,& 4 cams. Could be describing a K, KR, KRH, XL, XLH, XLCH, XLR, IRON XR-750,ALUMINUM XR-750, XRTT, XB, or XBRR. Hmmm? History, Past and future. I'll be down to watch. will you?

>>>>Yes, you did. Especially when you commenced debating the point.

I kinda did too. It was phrased less to showcase collaboration as it was a backhanded slap at Buell Engineers.

I could be wrong and have no time to dissect the wording of the post.

Buell has changed the way Harley-Davidson engineers things. Buell has changed Harley-Davidson products.

Buell has some very bright engineers but lacks the sheer number that Harley-Davidson has. Ergo, projects born in the Buell building/mind soon, as they pass P.O.C., are assigned HD project managers.

It's a system that works very well. There are two new project managers, that I personally, am looking for great things from. You've already seen some of their work.

People should be nicer. Of course, I also think they should come shovel the 26" (all time NYC record) of snow from my drive...but, it ain't gonna happen.

: )

Just to be clear, I applaud the efforts of Buell engineers in the development of the XBRR engine.

I think it is great that a Buell will be in the Daytona 200. I will be rooting for it.

If Harley and Buell don't put this motor with 20x better reliability and much more performance into production street bikes, it will be a crying shame.

It is quite apparent to me that the Buell/Harley collaboration on reworking the old sportster engine into a modern engine has shown amazing amounts of success.

I still have a question. When the upgrades from the XBRR engine are integrated into the production Buells, where will this engine be built?

I'm looking to other interests than arguing today. Trying to be more positive.

Harley engines ROCK.

Wow. . . this is quite cool and quite positive.

I think lots of folks will be rootin', some because they are Buell fans, many just cause there is an American thing about watching a new kid on the block mix it up. For whatever the reason is, it'll be fun and already promises the greatest Buell crowd in history.

Harley engines do indeed rock. To this date, nothing stirs my moto-juicificator quite like an XR-750 or XR-1000 motor....

Cool beans. . . . did I say BEANS????

The engines will be built in the Harley-Davidson factory. Buell has available one of the most modern and sorted out engine production facilities in the world. . . you can bet they'll use it.

it would be a wonderful thing is the presence of an American bike could help restore Daytona to a place approaching what it once had . . . ironic and appropriate at the same time --

as I wronte sumplace else (I fergit where), the Buell factory folks were jumpin outa there skin (well, for them, one or two are quite laconic, habitually) with enthusiasm over the upcoming races --

finishing would be a great start to a wonderful shiney new race program! anything above and beyond that would be grounds for a national holiday, I believe)

(Note, Laconic does not mean they are from New Hampshire, btw)

Actually the modified engines for the XBRRs will be built in East Troy, as were all the engines at the Daytona and Texas tests. We'll do our best...

Actually, by build I mean assembly, many parts will be machined at Capitol Drive.

Are the builders going to autograph the motors like Ford does with the cobras?
It'd be a nice touch, possibly on the oval plate covering the cams.

Just a thought.
