It's amazing how much controversy is caused by the mention of Buell making a serious effort to compete in FX.

Also amazing how much ignorance there is of Buells and anti-Buell opinions. Blake posts from time to time over at MO, as do I, to try to correct some of the misconceptions. Thanks to Blake. |

This article debates the whether or not the XBRR is going to be legal to race in FX:

And it mentions the Honda CBR600RR as an example of a street bike that is raced in FX. I'm not very knowledgeable about the classes and and bikes but isn't there a Buell street model that provides a lineage to the XBRR?
And if you look at the amount of modification in Jake Zemke's Honda Formula Extreme bike, it is as far removed from a stock CBR600RR as the XBRR is from one of the Buell models?
With all the interest and enthusiasm as there is in the XBRR, it would be a shame if it can't be raced.
Is there a good web page that breaks down the road racing classes and give brief descriptions of the hardware limitations? I'm wonder if the XBRR and CBR600RR would be racing against each other?

There are articles that debate the legal issues surrounding driving a Chevrolet in Indiana.

The relevant question seems to be this: where is the XBRR streetbike this machine is based on?
Well i would assume it was based on the XBR models... Man this guy is just p.o'ed that Buell wants to help out racers w/ a race ready bike..

Actually I'd say it is more based on the xb12ss due to the frame. Bodywork is irrelevant according to FX rules. |
