Reepi HELP! I've fought the power for long engough. Switched to Debian for one major reason (you probably already know it too) to get the functionaliity of apt get (really sweet.) I'm having some issues from the kernel mirrors getting a 'good' version of Nessus, NMAP, and 802 interfaces.

Jim may know it too -- Buell riding Jim what says you? Come on guys I'm older than you andneed your young brains.

I've been doing this since 1981 and it's the rare isnstant when I kind of back up, bang head, try again, then repeat. So, if you been here, done that, I'd be grateful -- plus!!! I'll send you some BRP/Deal's Gap patches.

Sorry to go off thread, but there's not many geeks I can go to for this on fellows so please do indulge me just a bit. Thanks.

Alex -- Yippee! Deere does some very cool stuff in tech pubs and training, and since those efforts are the tail of the dog, I would imagine that their engineering efforts are similarly cooool!

course, now they got YOU!

Thanks for the kind words.

I've been with Deere as a co-op for the last 4 years, and it's been a great place to work. They are a very diverse company, with a ton of opportunities and have a lot of really neat projects going on right now.

One of the good things about being in the midwest is that hopefully I'll be able to get ride around the country a bit more, since I'm right in the middle of it.

Bart,
The M2 will never ever leave my hands. I think after this summer, we've bonded a little bit. She has many many miles a head of her, but that blue Firebolt just jumped out at me.

Alex,
You say you bought that bike from Dave S? He told me once that he didn't think bikes should be blue. (notice the color of mine)

To start a new tread take an exacto knife and your old tire and start carving.

Tripper,
It'll get some accessories. First is the exhaust, it's going to be another loud Buell. I can always keep up, there wasn't a huge need to get tickets or dump the M2 on that trip, I had plenty of miles to go after KC.

Aaron,
I'll have to look him up once I get back to work. I don't recognize the name, but I'll give him a shout. I have worked with a lot of very talented people at Deere in the past 4 years, and the stuff we come out with gets better and better.

Mike,
You know the color of my M2 as well, and Dave didn't give me any crap about the color. Two blue bikes? Maybe I'll have to add another to the stable soon, like a Parkway Blue S2. Can't wait to ride with ya again, Mike.

Hey guys,
I'm considering using those Pirelli Scorpions that they use on the CITY X on my Beemer. How do they hold up mileage-wise. The magazines seem to like them on you bikes. Thanks in advance.

Kreinke how much does your beemer weigh? I ask because its been mentioned on another board that bikes that are heavier are eating some of the Pirelli's alive.

"Queen Latifah" tips the scales at just over 500 lbs. She steers like a 250cc dirt bike though. Anyhoo...I guess the Scorpions are dual sport tires (am I right or wrong). Currently I have Dunlop D-208's and I've hear that I'll be lucky to get 3k out of a rear one. That's the only reason I'm asking.

On my last Beemer (an F650) I had real good luck with Avon Azaro II's for mileage. They gripped real well in the wet as well. Thanks guys.

Kreinke, the Scorpion Syncs which are what on the CityX are not actually Dual Sports. They are more of a cross between a SuperMotard tire and a street tire per Pirelli's site. They do offer a Dual Sport tire with the Skorpion name but its a different animal that is ment more for Fire roads then total street use. Since your running a 208 now, the I can't see a problem with you running the Syncs.

Hey FMJ,
No link, no joy : (

6.5 hours to drive up there, but took over 9 hours to drive back (+2.5 hours to catch a few winks in a rest stop in the middle of the night). Some trucker burned his truck to the ground on I5 going up the grapevine grade, shut the whole road down long enough to delay my entrance into LA until peak rush hour. Truly no joy there, LA traffic is unbelievable.

The American Sport BikeN meetings are great. Woz, Jack, Rex, Jim, Joe, Dusty, and others do a great job of setting it up and making it all interesting and entertaining.

Dunno... Given the reputation for breakage at this point, I would probably buy a Buell race exhaust before I bought the Jardine. I know Jardine supposedly just fixed some things, but the Buell part has been good all along.

Is that the sugar-coated version?

Will Buell survive this diatribe?

Should I sell my significant American sportbike and buy a Triumph?
