"walk don't run to get the full race kit"
Josh, why do you say that? Would a K&N filter and a Super Trapp be any better? What combination would you guys recomend. I want to have a better sound and of course more power. I have found a good deal on the race kit. Also on the K&N with a Super Trapp. Also I have read a few post that mentions modifying the bread box, whats that about?
Thanks Wade

Moltons3-
I vote for the Supertrapp. It looks good, is solid and can easily be adjusted. I set mine up with 8 discs which gives it adequate performance without too much noise. If I want to be rowdy I slap the open endcap on and it sounds great.

The full race kit is the easy answer.
I ran a Race Header, StainlessSpecialties custom muffler, Race ECM and a modified airbox (K&N, swiss-chessed filter cover, venturi, no intake runner). Ran awesome and made 95 HP with Stg1 Nallin heads.

Oh, most of the race kits and components for tube framers are now obsolete...no longer available...so if someone has 'em in stock now's the time to pick one up!

Buells on TV
I did a search and didn't see this posted before, Monk on USA - episode from July 2nd ("Mr Monk and the Three Pies"; ) features a cameo by a XB9R. Two scenes, several seconds with it in the background.

Watching TV over the weekend , I saw a Buell Drag bike with a 60 degree engine , 120" or 160" ,something like that. I cannot find anything on the net about it. Anyone know of it?

FMJ,
Rob Korn had a motor like that in his last HD/Screaming Eagle sponsored ProStock bike.
Wonder if it found a new home.

Just a heads up that there is a pretty widespread virus running around this afternoon, another mydoom variation.

It comes with a zipfile attachment, and can infect your machine if you even open the attachment (even if you don't run the enclosed file).

Just delete 'em as soon as they hit your inbox, and make sure your antivirals are up to date.

Moltons3,
By replacing the helmholtz tube in your airbox with a venturi ring & open up the filter box & use a K&N replacement filter, you improve breathing & increase intake noise. ( you can hear the valves just fine. ) Some remove the stock filter & housing & use a K&N conical filter on a modified helmholtz tube. ( plug openings, grind off flange ) I have not seen Dyno charts on either mod, but sotp (seat of the pants) shows improvement. also! If you re route your breather lines to a catch can/filter, you quit feeding the acid laden condensate/oil mist into your engine. It keeps the pistons a lot cleaner.

The knowledge vault has several pictures & discussions on airbox mods.

VR1203...agreed. They touched on it breifly in the show then went on to the "sleeper" baggers running the S&S 124VFI engine. I know someone in another thread had a pic of a redbodied XBdragger with the same engine layout at Laguna Seca...
