Hey guys... thought i'd introduce myself.
Just got my first Buell (a little blast for a smallish girl). Some of you know Lou, works at the Harley Dealership in MN, got rear ended off of his firebolt in May... he's my uncle. He wanted me to let you know he's doin well (hobbling around on crutches and back at home) and can't wait to ride again (but the new bike is outta commision). As soon as he's got internet access he'll be back on and he said to tell you he's got some info on the new bikes...

Yeah, Loki. You should have visited when you were in Dover. We could have carved a few curves, since there are only a few in the area...

Well my Newfoundland plans are coming together. Since it wasn't going to work out to meet Alex & the Detroit gang we made arrangments to leave the van and trailer at McDermott Motorcycle (listed as a Buell dealer) in FtAnn, NY. They were gracious enough to let me leave it there while on my trip. Make sure you drop in and say thanks for me.

Jess,
Welcome aboard!
Lou is a real fighter. It is amazing how far he has come since the accident.
When I talked to him on Thursday, he was so excited about going home on Friday.
He is shooting for a limited back to work schedule by the end of the month!

Brad

I took the liberty of moving Hans' post about Andy to the "Bad News" page in order to not have it disappear into the storage Vaults. I guess I understand where Court is coming from - not liking the name of that thread, but I'd like to keep everyones post about Andy from disappearing. Especially knowing that Andy's family have been visiting Badweb and SACBORG, reading the posts.

So maybe we can rename the thread or make a new one ?

hey guys,
i have an m2... just serviced it after having it sit for a while. took it for a ride yesterday and now i am noticing a metallic rattle coming from the front of the bike. looked it over for something loose and noticed that the front motor mount bracket looks awfully close to the valve cover... i never noticed this before but i never rally paid any attention. the bike does not feel loose nor does it have any extra vibration when being ridden but something just does not look right. if any of you could take and post a picture of your front motor mount in relation to the valve cover it may help me out... abny and all advice is appreciated.

Hi all, this is an old old problem that I thought I had got away with, ....but the decals have blistered on my 97 S1 tank, at first it was only one small blister which was hardly noticable but sadly it has become much worse I live in the UK I spoke to my local dealership who just shrugged and told me tough luck. They suggested I should get some of the raised letter type decals and stick them over the original ones, i tried to order some but so far i have been unable to. Can someone advise me what to do next, i don't mind buying the raised letters if i can get some, it has been said that the tank should be replaced by HD, I bought the bike from the local dealership but it was not new (8 months old) please help, my Buell is in otherwise perfect condition and these blisters are driving me nuts. Thanks in advanceMy S1

Portia -- any of the HD Dealer sponors can order the letters for you -- I'd ask Buell customer service about replacing the tank, though you may be out of luck, as you didn't buy it new (are you the first owner? that may make a difference)

nice looking tail section on your S1 . . . . what is it, may I ask?

Portia, if your local dealers can't help you, email me offline, last time I asked my dealer can get them.

Hi Bomber, the tail section is a Daytona Item from Fast Company in the US, got it about 4years ago, I think they have moved onto making "Draggin jeans" now so i don't think it is available anymore, I saw a picture of an S1 with one on in the Sportster performance handbook it was used by Don Tilley in the NAmerican Sport Bike 102hp class I thought it looked great did a few searches on the net and eventually tracked them down they had stopped making them but kindly did a one off for me, it came with a seat pad and light bracket as the tail light sits further back than stock."You can reach FAST Company at 1010 Third Avenue Drive NW, Hickory, NC 28601 and can be reached at (704) 327-2644" just found these contact details. Sadly I am not the first owner of this bike.
Reepicheep- thanks for that I will pester the local dealer do you by any chance have a part number ??
