Hey everyone! I need to get a new front rotor for my 00' M2 and was wondering if you could post some links to aftermarket rotors. Preferably something interesting. Thanks

I'd go no further than the link below...call Al at American Sport Bike and tell him what you need (budget vs. performance) then go stand in front of your mailbox.

No more complicated than that...

Ross:

I noted a refernece to "in 03" on the Oz Buell webpage. I tried to post but couldn't.

It may be of interest to some of those new to "Buells Downunder", that Buell has quite a history in Oz and the coolest of all Buell posters was to commemorate the coming to Oz of the 1998 White Lightning.

The "take one for a test prowl" poster is right up there with the famed Red RS1200 poster.

I also have hanging over my desk the "Buell Safari" neck tags and the goodie package provided to the Australian Press.

Folks from Oz have always been passionate about their riding and Buell, when getting ready to intro the WL series, seized the moment to make the debut a killer new bike!

Buell has a rather fascinating history in Oz and I find it kinda cool that I have met, personally, every Oz Buell who made the trip to the Salt (yo, my friend, are crazy!)

I could tell you some of the history but the rest of it....well, I could tell you but.....

Anyway....remind me to tell you sometime.

All the best, Mate,
Court

Well i rekkon if we have an animal made of gods left overs (platapus) and a hopping mamal (the roo) we can easily come up with a unique, if not bent way to introduce Buell to a bike mad country.

Actually....the poster that Buell did for the Oz intro was of a cheetah, quite blurred in the background, and a rider in Buell leathers "at speed" on the yet to become public White Lightning.

The bottom of the poster read "Take one for a Test Prowl".

Somewhere in this mess I've a box of posters and t-shirts, but it was one of the quite coolest, thanks to some fired up Oz press, Buell events I recall.

Remind me to tell you about it....

At a local bike shop today I overheard the following:

Customer: Your Duc is too expensive.
Dealer (looking at $13k price tag on a new Monster S4): what do you mean?
Customer: Those are selling on eBay for $4000.

What would you have done?
1) nothing/chuckle
2) ask him if he bought one and encourage him to do so quickly
3) use the work "scam" correctly in a sentence.

Any feedback as to whether or not a Rev Tech DFO is worth the $$$?

I have installed a Screamin' Eagle Sportster airbox on my 2000 S3T. Local dealer says this is going to create a lean condition that the DFO will correct (and that the motor will eventually experience bad things if I don't).

I'm a carb guy. Not really well-versed on FI, but I understood Buell "closed loop" DDFI (whatever that may be) essentially self-corrected fuel mixtures when changing pipes, airbox components, etc.

Thanks.

Race ECM and V&H exhaust already installed. Actually, the Sportster air cleaner fits pretty well. No problem with the knee. Maybe I'm just built that way.

Then don't worry about it and your dealer should know better (and probably does).

Letter to All Hands,

We are going back in to the brawl. We will be relieving the magnificent
Soldiers fighting under the 82nd Airborne Division, whose hard won
successes in the Sunni Triangle have opened opportunities for us to
exploit. For the last year, the 82nd Airborne has been operating against
the heart of the enemy's resistance. It's appropriate that we relieve
them: When it's time to move a piano, Marines don't pick up the piano
bench - we move the piano. So this is the right place for Marines in this
fight, where we can carry on the legacy of Chesty Puller in the Banana
Wars in the same sort of complex environment that he knew in his early
years. Shoulder to shoulder with our comrades in the Army, Coalition
Forces and maturing Iraqi Security Forces, we are going to destroy the
enemy with precise firepower while diminishing the conditions that create
adversarial relationships between us and the Iraqi people.

This is going to be hard, dangerous work. It is going to require patient,
persistent presence. Using our individual initiative, courage, moral
judgment and battle skills, we will build on the 82nd Airborne's
victories. Our country is counting on us even as our enemies watch and
calculate, hoping that America does not have warriors strong enough to
withstand discomfort and danger. You, my fine young men, are going to
prove the enemy wrong - dead wrong. You will demonstrate the same
uncompromising spirit that has always caused the enemy to fear America's
Marines.

The enemy will try to manipulate you into hating all Iraqis. Do not allow
the enemy that victory. With strong discipline, solid faith, unwavering
alertness, and undiminished chivalry to the innocent, we will carry out
this mission. Remember, I have added, "First, do no harm" to our passwords
of "No Better Friend, No Worse Enemy." Keep your honor clean as we gain
information about the enemy from the Iraqi people. Then, armed with that
information and working in conjunction with fledgling Iraqi Security
Forces, we will move precisely against the enemy elements and crush them
without harming the innocent.

This is our test-our Guadalcanal, our Chosin Reservoir, our Hue City.
Fight with a happy heart and keep faith in your comrades and your unit. We
must be under no illusions about the nature of the enemy and the dangers
that lie ahead. Stay alert, take it all in stride, remain sturdy, and
share your courage with each other and the world. You are going to write
history, my fine young Sailors and Marines, so write it well.

Semper Fidelis,

Oconnor,
Awesome words.

I'm watching a thing on the history channel right now about Saddam's family and their rise to power, and am in awe of what has gone on there. The past few months I've prayed and thought more than I have in my entire life, all of the Marine, Army, Air Force, Navy and National Guard personnel around the world are in my thoughts.

Ferris and Henrik,
Our thoughts go with your kin. As for the rest of youse apes! Lissen up! Now's the time to show how big your hearts are! As some of you know, our good friend and riding partner Carolina Bonham, who lives here in Austin, has been called up to active duty and is now stationed in Iraq. For those of you who don't know her well (or at all), Carolina is an avid motorcyclist and holds, according to Reg Kitrelle, the world record for number of BattleTrax laps at a single meet (I can't even remember how many) on an assortment of motorcycles. Her personal stable includes a Buell Blast, a Honda CBR 600 and a Honda Superhawk. She is also one of the nicest, most independent young women you could ever meet. I don't know if she is able to take the time/bandwidth to sit and read websites like Badweb, but Sgt. Bonham (as she is sometimes known) has given me permission to post her military e-mail address here because she knows that ALL of her motorcycle "family" are the best, most civil people you could ever meet and any correspondence from said group would be infinitely supportive and polite and would be deeply appreciated by her. Carolina will be stationed in the former land of Mesopotamia for at least A YEAR! (Yikes! ) Please consider sending your personal thoughts and well-wishes to a fellow 'cyclist that is doing her duty for all our sakes. Below is also a message from her from a month or so ago detailing a bit of the life of a soldier in Iraq.

Thank you for you kind attention,
HellBuelly J

Hey there everyone,

Good news: Mail is officially established (FINALLY), so those who were asking when and where to send anything to me (THANK YOU, btw), it's getting through, so send away...

In other news, not much has changed. Nothing too exciting in the way of attacks (with the exception of those 82nd Airborne folks that got hit with an IED... RIP), which is a relative relief. I came down with what everyone's been calling the "Iraqi Crud"... basically what started as a mild head cold has developed into a rather juicy chest cold, and I feel like death warmed over. Still working, but my bosses have been lenient and caring enough to tell me to go early (I think more out of their own interests... being around sick people is depressing, not to mention it raises THEIR chances of catching this wonderful affliction). Today, though, we have some Transfer of Authority ceremony that we have to attend (I'm just thanking the "powers that be" that my section let me off that particular hook, as far as being IN the ceremony), not to mention some new cases that came in within the past day or two. Busy busy busy.... I don't mind a bit, though. It makes the time go by faster.

Anyhow, time to quit shamming... ; ) Hope things are more exciting on y'all's end.

Take care,

-Carolina

Thanks folks for the congrats. Wes didn't have his new motor ready this year, mostly because of my personal tradgedy and consequences therefrom. This year, however, will be different. I am looking forward to a very kick-ass year.

My thoughts are with all of you who are or have family in the military. We are proud of you.

My condolences to those on this board who have been injured or have lost close friends or family.

I have been away from this board for awhile so could I get the readers digest condensed version of what has been going on?

Rocket sweety, I always liked you the way you were and I am sure the 'new' you will be just as interesting. The folks who 'really' know you, take you as you are and don't need an explaination.

Glad to "see" you all again
