>I thought all S1W were white? Am I wrong ?

Yes. The initial bikes were white but midway through the production run they allowed more colors/frames. If you run a search you can get the breakdown by color.

To know the difference, check the VIN 4th and 5th letters YS is S1WL, SS is just S1. (well, ok only 4th is different)

the first ones were, followed shortly thereafter by different color combos.

my S1W is Molten Orange over black frame (see pix in Tale Section in the "Oktoberfast" thread).

Yup hook line and sinker
I was thinking of a 2 seater Saab with a 200+ hp 900 turbo Sonnet i saw at a car show. I thought you had a Sonnet with a little bit of your handywork. I think you are the person with a Saab pickup. Just thought you sprinkled a little bit of magic on the coupe.

This almost looks like bait but I'll bite. Under the gas tank/airbox on the left side of the bike at the end of 2 black wires are the plugs. Get yourself a service manual and learn which end of a wrench to use or a good friend at a shop.

To answer your question, Is there gas in the frame?

JT

BTW: cute girl in your profile. You look much to young to ride.

Smitty please elaborate on this comment I think you are the person with a Saab pickup.

You could be onto something there LOL

Sadly not a Jet Fighter Newfie nor an EV 1 Philly, and neither of those you suggest Mike but hey I envy Bomber, that's one of the few Saab's I've never owned, the little Sonnet.

Charlotte in Wyoming,
If you have your bike hit the Bighorns. Sweet roads, any of the three over the top. On the west side somewhere between the two main passes there is a mystical rock art archaeological site, had the compass in my tank bag spinning in circles.
But I suspect you're without the bike and are probably spending much time just north of there right around the border area in a land sometimes known as a different country. ;)
Have fun, stay out of trouble, but if you get into trouble always know where the side door is.

Good Morning,
I would post this in the knowledge vault but I am in kind of a hurry. I adjusted the primary after I put the gasket on and I wanted to make sure I did it right. I measured the travel from the bottom of the chain to the top of the chain. It sounds noisy now and I have to go about 90 miles this morning. Can anyone advise?

Aurora - Check your fuel petcock to make certain that the fuel injection system is getting gas. Cute photo. You must get pulled over a lot.

Rocket . . .the Sonnet was a great toss-and-catch car, if that makes sense . . . .a little like my old bug-eye with more motor . . . . not fast by any stretch of the imagination, but, on the right road, good fun for sure . . .. .

it, along with the other under-powered (by US standards) cars that I was into at the time, really taught me alot about conservation of momentum, avoiding the brakes whenever possible, and just how David beat the heck outa Golieth (my bug-eye paid for 3 semesters of college . . .. jacked up Chevy II pilots would laugh, I'd pick the road, and that would be that!)

unfortunately, an ex-spouse who will remain nameless (for fear of conjuring up her spirit by naming her) holed the oil pan in the mountains in arizona (where we were living), and spun the mains . . . .. it was never quite the same, and I let her have it when we parted ways (she also boosted all my metrtic tools and beach boy records . . . . . there is a special place in hell awaiting her {grin})

Blasterd; align your tape measure or caliper with either bottom or top of chain with the chain in the lowest position. Then lift up on the chain and measure to the same point of reference as you first aligned with. I.e. if you at first used the bottom of the chain you should measure to the bottom of the chain.

It's quite clearly identified in the manual. BTFM & RTFM ;)

No bait involved. I'm just desperate. Don't want a loan on something that doesn't run. Not sure if my warranty will cover this or not. Don't want to spend a fortune getting something fixed that I might be able to fix myself. Thanks for your help. A service guy told me you have to drop to whole engine.
BTW I have a service manual ordered and the girl in the pic is my daughter.

But it is not expected to be ready for production until 2006 and will cost an estimated £10,000.
maybe by then it'll have some modern brakes and that big "alu-minium" swingarm won't just take up space? Neat exhaust, though. Just wish I could buy a bike with one like it now ;)
oh, wait, I can :) Not bad for a company that was almost bankrupt 10 years ago

Auroradusk,
Is your engine cut off switch in the on position? If yes ,then check the fuses next. Maybe you blew your fuel injection fuse??

Hi,

The left mirror on my S2 no longer plays nicely.

I'm looking for a decent aftermarket mirror as a replacement.

Lockhart Phillips has a model that is reportedly slotted to adjust for various mount widths (on the S2 it's 40mm center to center) and the mirror has integrated turn signals.

Anyone try these? Or know of any other suitable replacements? I saw the KV posts using the snowmobile mirrors...

TIA

Loc Tite can fix droopy mirrors if that is the problem.... Pull back the plastic and coat the ball with loc tite place the mirror in the position you want it in and it will stay....

Petcock on a fuelie??

Is your engine cut off switch in the on position?

He said it cranks over, on my bike it wont do anything if the switch is in the off position.
