They're not looking at who's boarding planes now?
Or are you advocating only searches of people who look like terrorists (say, Tim McVeigh and Ted Kaczynski)?

but the naked looks like a Brutale (minus the SSS)

Are you off your freekin head man? What an insult to Massimo Tamburini.

The Fazer headlamp is a direct rip off of the Brutale headlamp, as for the rest of the 'naked' Fazer it is a design of safe standing, nothing radical and as 'naked' bikes go it's rather tame run of the mill stuff. How bad \ sad someone could possibly think the Fazer is even remotely similar to a Brutale in looks or anything else. You should have been shot at birth.

The Brutale is by far the best looking motorcycle ever built. Go get your eyes tested and get a dose of Italian motorcycle culture whilst you're at it.

Just a quick call for assistance:
Anybody in the St. Louis area have a spare rear strap for a Supertrap slip-on. I got to STL and the thin one on my S2 is broke. I have spares at home (EVV is 200 miles away). Drop me a line or call me at 812-760-5015 or 314-993-0093 (Parents House)

TIA

Any of you LSR gurus have an opinion on how much to extend the rear swing arm for a LSR type bike?

2" (drag racing?) 4" to 6"

We are ready to send the rear arm to Nillin racing and need some input prior to making a mistake.

What was it that Mikey P says "Measure Once, cut three times?" Or something like that.

Thanks

Tis a fitting tribute, that the 2003 TEAM ELVES effort and the 20th Anniversary of Buell coincide.

Twas neigh on 20 years ago, shortly before my interest was piqued, that bankers laughed at Mr. Buell and his dream of "what could be". The same era in which computers had been dubbed a "passing fad".

Buell had 99 of 100 strikes against him. Those odds, to those who know Erik, are the type he'd take any day. In a day when some folks think the days of the “dreamer made good” were lost to the likes of Ford and Carnegie, Erik saw the sliver of light and followed it.

The first day I met him in the diner in Mukwonago, the future wasn't clear, but it was certain. Perseverance conquers adversity in each and every battle.

Twenty years later, I have trouble looking back and grasping exactly what has transpired. Erik and I, I'll clue you in on a secret, still do a double-take whenever we see a Buell on the streets. I know there are more than 6 out there in the world now, but I'm just getting used to it. I feel a kinship, and I'm sure he does, with each and every one simply because I know the love and dedication that each Buell is the culmination of.

My glee, at this celebration, is also for those folks I call "The Elves". I revel in the e-mail I received, in 1996, admonishing me for using the term "Elves" in referring to certain Buell employees and telling me that I should "cease and desist" lest I erode their self-esteem.

T'aint so.

The ELVES made Buell. Erik's genius was the ingredient, but THE ELVES were the mixing spoon that made the recipe work. The folks who, with no hope of being paid extra for their effort, stayed nights, weekends and holidays to do the impossible. To turn the pile of parts from boxes in the back of a truck to a finished Buell by sunrise to appease an auditor.

I'm hesitant to name names because I'll miss some but I'll share a couple examples. Tom Anglim, Henry Duga, Dan Lang, Brankin Bremmer, Kim Wegner and a host of others were there when to a business analyst Buell was at best a venture surviving day-to-day. These folks kept their head down, focused on tasks and believed in the dream. Erik's a genius, a damned fine person and a nice fellow. These folks saw that and committed themselves to the dream.

A couple years later it was folks like Abe, Brent, Dan R, Jack Rhinehart, Gary Valine, April and a TON of others who got caught in the whirlwind that was the contagious enthusiasm of Erik Buell, his motorcycle and his dream...a dream in which the equally thrilled with life and living it to the fullest, are welcome to share fully.

Like the many Buells I've ridden so many miles in 44 states over those years, I've been but a passenger. I've vacillated between sounding board and therapist and in doing so have made the dearest friends I ever dreamt of. They've overlooked my faults to allow me to be part of the dream, it's been the ride of a lifetime and my rolodex contains 3,500+ names of folks I've met in the fold.

THE ELVES have truly been the catalyst that's galvanized and made glorious the Buell dream.

To each of you who will celebrate this week, to those who have planned and worked so hard, to those of you who are reading this while taking time from developing the frame for the 2007 Buell and must remain anonymous, CONGRATULATIONS...it's been one hell of a ride!

I can see Mr. Buells enthusiasm in the video on the website explaining the features of the XB chassis. Just think a lot of the Buell customers were torn between a Ducati monster and a Buell. Wouldn’t have thought that 20 years ago.

Great job Erik! Congrats.

Court,
Regretably I will not be able to make it to the 20th celebration.
I am SERIOUSLY bummed about it but my family must come first.
On Wednesday the 20th we drop off my son Carl to begin his newest life adventure.
He will be leaving very early in the AM of the 21st to start his journey to become a submarine computer technician. I'm sure the next 9 weeks will be quite an adventure for him.
Also, the 21st is my daughters 18th birthday.
I would be a very poor father if I missed either one of these events.

As far as the 4 patch fine, I guess I deserved that... but, I'll have to pay up by mail. I need to get one of them sewn on my jersey before Bonneville.
By hook or crook I WILL be there this year.

I'll get an order in for the latest and greatest Elf ware early this week.

Brad
