TEAM ELVES DONATION

Fireman:

Indeedopotimus, you are correct.

We opened donations for:

RICHARD NALLINS 200MPH CLUB RING: Maxium donation accepted from any individual is $20 and I felt this was an expense we should spread, not take from Team Funds.

SALT PETER FUND: Our annual Salt-ership will be used to get more Peter in Bonneville. Any size donation (all so far are $100) accepted.

Pay pal to TEAMBUELLELVES@AOL.COM or send a check to Jom Bantz. I'll scrool back through and find his address and post later.

TEAM ELVES UPDATE

Those of you who ORDERED AND PAID for 202.989MPH shirts....please drop me a note. I have all of the paperwork and the shirts arrived last week.

You have yours truly to blame for the delay. I was sympathetic to the "hold on, we may want a few more" and waited. Eventually it lie dormant when I started working again. My fault, I'll take the heat.

Drop me a note and you'll have them by the end of next week.

The list of 2003 Elf-Fashion Wear will be here this week. I am expecting final artwork within 24 hours.

Reservation info has been posted. Don't delay.

Has anyone here ever bought a bike from a overseas location (Germany) and what are the implications if any. Looking to buy a HD FXSTS for a real good price ,but have my concerns. What would be the safest payment method? All help would be appreciated. Yeah, This is a Ebay sale.

Okay,

I have a few questions ... will we get conformation "some how" that we've paid for things we can't see or actually get? You know like the ring and Salt Peter fund. I realize those of us that use PayPal get conformation of our transactions but nothing is confirmed from Team Elves. Sort'a scary when I read that only one individual has sent money to the Salt Peter fund when the converation has been going on for months.

The following reply is what i got in regards to paying for shipment COD.-------------
So sorry, but I have to tell you that I will exclude all the other
payment methods like Escrow or Paypal or COD because, in my country
these methods doesn't function very well and I have to wait too long for
picking up the money (10-12 days). I've done business using these
methods and I was not happy at all.
I understand you are concern and must agree with you, but honestly it is
not the case. I am a serious ebayer, with great reputation here - I had
no problems till now and my feedback shows this very clear. My
intentions are to make my sales here on ebay permanent and start a
business, so any problem/negative feedback won't do me too good. You
have my personal guarantee that you'll receive the unit as soon as I
have a payment confirmaton - no later that 3 days (as long as the
shippment takes). And you will also have a 15 days money back warranty,
no questions asked - this means that if within 15 days you c hange your
mind you simply sent back the unit and get your full paied amount back.
I hope this is not a real problem, but I do need to receive the payment
in order to be able to make the shippment.

I hope everything is in order and we can finalize this transaction.

Thank you,

Yugger: Would not surprise me when the positive feedback on Ebay is 100%. Then it stinks even more: 100 % is not possible. When you would give away, for free, big, solid gold nuggets, at least 1 % will complain, that the nuggets are too heavy and that they would prefer money. Scams are always overdoing things.

>>>I read that only one individual has sent money to the Salt Peter fund when the converation has been going on for months.

That's incorrect.

There have been a host of folks ante up. Many have been via check sent to Jim Bantz. The Paypal result in a notice being sent. Vickie prints it out, logs it in and tracks it. Bantz get a copy of the e-mail and maintains an accounting to prevent any co-mingling of funds between "team" funds and our extraordinary items.

The reason I have chosen to do it this way is precisely to allow us to keep EXCELLENT records, which we have done.

By the time, we head off to East Troy, I'd like to shoot to have a letter sent to all those who contributed to Richard's 200MPH Club Ring. This was a bigger thing than you can possibly imagine for him and his family. Although, it was a direct result of our Team efforts, I felt that to pay for the ring from "Team" funds would be to deviate from our intended purposes and past dealings.

Absent any objections from any individual donors, I'd be pleased to post a listing of folks who have contributed.

All right some S2 triva here required: What is the turning radius for an S2?

I took the ERC course yesterday and I could not make the "U" turn in the area they laid out. I walked the S2 thru the turn (this evening) and had this much room left if I held her at full steering lock:
TightTurnRad No
Anyway I passed but wanted to make that "Figure 8" but could not do it on the S2.

Later all, time2Ride.

Anyone have anS1 parts manual handy? I'm looking for the part number for the rear breather bolt. It looks like it is a 90 degree fitting. I've been on a hunt for 90 fittings for quite some time and finally saw one in a service manual.
Thanks.

CCRyder... more lean (on the bike) gives a much tighter turn radius. Hold your body bolt upright, and lean the bike waaaaay underneath you as far over as you can get it. You may even have to add a little speed to get a little more lean. It can make a huge difference in turn tightness.

Or you could always just goose the throttle a little and slide the back end around, those MSF instructors really love it when you do that sort of thing ;)

You've got to do it like this.

Lean that sucker over onto the frame, sit on the side of the seat, feather the rear brake, keep the clutch in the gray area, and keep that power flowing to the rear wheel. Of course, I wouldn't do that to my Buell, but it's one way of doing it.

Wrong!!! I've been doing business on ebay for almost 4 years with 100% positive feedback from over 100 people. I've never had a complaint from either people I've bought from or people I've sold to. Do a search on M2Bueller if you don't believe me.

TeamGalbratihRacing Plea for help:

The SuperModel's 45 Flathead lower end is in a sorry state. What should have been a simple upperend freshening has turned into a complete engien rebuild, and the possible need for a new engine.

The bottom end is shot.

Kaput.

Its amazing that it ran as well as it did. Too much bad juju going on in the bottom end to mention quickly.... BUT...

The upshot is, we may need to put out a worldwide search for a suitably rebuilt Pre-56 WL, WLA, WLD, WR lower end.

And possibly pronto. This is the key.

The total damage estaimate should be in by Tues.-Wed. of this week. We will then know whether it is worth it time and $$ wise to rebuild the exsisting lower end, or search for a new one.

If we need a new one, I will call into effect the mighty powers of the Elves and BadWeb to search the earth for the bottom end we need.

This is a warning call. Be ready for the call to action.

Danke Mucho in advance.

(P.S. All alse ISNT going well in the TGR camp. We've got piston to head clearance issues on the Triumph 250, and the Guzzi hasnt even been touched yet.... Hopingto be ready in time for B'ville

Like they said just lean it more. Remember Granderson's S-2 in battle trax. He could turn a tighter 360,than anyone else. But he was leaning more than anyone and had the fastest time.

Two things...having only owned harleys up until Friday, I was desperate to open up the exhaust on my new lightning, so I went ahead and put on the V&H. Am I ok on mixture since I didn't open up the intake, or am I going to be running too lean? (If I am running lean can I just add a little choke for a couple weeks until I can have the carb rejeted?) Secondly, with only 1700 miles on a 98, the battery is about dead, can a new battery be purchased at Advance or Autozone, or is a Harley dealer the only place to get one? I don't have a buell dealer local, so can somebody tell me the part number for the battery so I can pick one up tomorrow first thing? Thanks in advance! Danny

Hi Jeffst: I have to bend my head in shame. Congratulations with you 100% positive Ebay record. You fulfilled an impossible mission.
It seems to be easier to fake such results. If you read carefully, scams make mistakes: All sellers reports when a scam tries to sell himself or inconsequences: Buyer thanks for fast payment, or no B or S in the marge.

Jugger, I would have proposed, but assumed already that the seller would reside far away: 375 Mls in this case, while you have to reckon on two hours to find any address in Berlin.
Last month two suckers witnessed their loss on a photoforum, which I frequently visit. But the advertisements keep coming:

: Want cash this time, in $$, not local currency or Euros.
: Time pressure
: Too low price and some goodies which potential buyers do salivate, weakening their brains.
: 100% positive Ebay records.
: From Russia, Afghanistan, Rumenia, Belgium
: Articles which are much more expensive on their local market, than in the USA.
: No answers when asked impossible questions
: Emphasis on mutual trust, while only you have reason for suspicion.

You could propose that I want to see the bike: Ask for time, exact address and home phone for a visit, not coming, but next Saturday, in the afternoon. But you could first ask him for a picture of himself, with in his hand a letter, which you will write by mail to him, on his home address so, that the license plate of the bike and his home address and his face is clearly visible.
I have no idea what shipping a bike will cost with crating it in: Think 1500 $$. Not something you want to pay when you have to ship it back ( before you have your money back.)

In an hurry, works is waiting.

Well, I was all ready to sell the M2 'cause I've been riding the FXR most the time. I had a few "fare well" rides on the Buell and, you guessed it, decided to keep it.

So what I want to do now is spend a little more money on it (go figure). I'd like to strip it down a bit and make it look more lean or "cafe' racer": where do I start?(bar-end mirrors, small turn signals, custom seat, etc.) Any ideas (and pics) would be appreciated.
Thanks

S1joel He cheated he's got training boards .
Rall: I'll NEVER be able to lean as far as Granderson but, he is a GREAT example (BTW he SMOKED the rest of the field by almost 2 seconds, and there was some fierce competition!)
DAve: I got an Odyssey battery (PC545MJ) from Sunn Battery of FL and they were very, very good to deal with.
The Odyssey battery needs AMPS for charging, not milliamps (You can use your automotive charger BTW check here for charging instructions). Forget those trickle chargers, mine in Passion is working out GREAT even with the RED poking it's head out from unerneath the tail section. BTW Sunn Battery usually has these batteries on the shelf for about the same price or lower so you don't need to chance the price on Ebay.
So now that the AF is cutting you loose, where might you be heading??

Time2Work.
