I had my isolators replaced n/c. Went in just to discuss the potential problem and the Service Manager said they would replace them wether failed or not.

I remember a posting about a company that makes rear racks for Buells, but can't find it. Does anybody know the Website. I believe the company was Ventura Racks. Is this right?:dunno:

The Ventura system is sold by American Sport Bike. It is an outstanding system. I've toured extensively with one on three different bikes.

Orngm2...it all depends on the dealership. Mine sucks. I opted to buy the kit and not let those dirty bastards touch my baby.

The bulletin includes all Buells with the older versions of the isolators.

Loki...I think you just need to look for the usual...S1's don't seem to have any unique problems/concerns compared to the rest of the tube framed line.

I am in need of a right side isolator plate for the LSR S-2.I have JVV's busted one for left side.I am making some rear sets and don't want to sacrifice mine--as I spent way too much time sanding and polishing.So If someone has a beatup one they want to get rid of let me know.Thanks.

I missed a first to second gear shift last night on my '02 X1. The revs went pretty high. A few seconds later my engine light came on and has stayed on. The bike continues to run at a normal level. What exactly is going on with the engine light? How can get it to go off?

Does anyone know the part number for the little (2" round, with two screws) primary chain inspection cover, (located to the top left of the clutch inspection cover) for a M202? Mine has a crack in it, and I'm having a hard time finding a replacement. I would prefer a chrome one, but seeing how difficult it is for the parts dept as well as the internet to show a replacement one... I though I would ask the BBS.

Look in your manual under troubleshooting. The over-rev might have triggered the check-engine light to be on the safe side. Might need a reset to clear it. Or it might be something else.

Help please,

I've just been informed that the right fork leg off of my S2 will not seal because the lower fork leg is scored, which should not come as news as it is currently in for a third seal replacement. Additionally, I must buy the entire fork leg, $460, as the lower is no longer sold alone. There may be 2 in the US, but otherwise it is "vendor direct" - A.K.A. S.O.L. I need the bike togeather as I plan on running it at Bonneville. I plan on getting on the phone to see if I can find a fork leg. If any of you have ideas, or know of a fork leg I need the help.

Roc, if the fork is the same as the S1, I may have a lead for you. Otherwise you may contact Forks by Frank. I am not sure if they make tubes for inverted forks though...I can check if you wish.

I'm not running stock equipment, I am however using a PCIII. I have found the "zero" map to be the best running combination, after trying many.

I don't think I/you need anything other than the Race ECM until you start to get really big, like way bigger than the Nallin 1250 kit. The Race ECM provides plenty of fuel. I think airflow is our main obstacle, trying to fix that right now.

That said; the PC is not needed to richen up the mix anywhere; and I cannot find any ranges of rpm/throttle position where leaning the mixture would be a positive addition to performance.

The only reason I still have it on the bike is so I can retrieve more information via the 4 wire heated O2 sensor (Standard Motor Products #SG27)which is more accurate than the unheated unit while cruising.

If you want your check engine light to come on an go out at random intervals intervals while riding, and have a box that offers much show over go I recommend it above all others. By the way the PC factory tech has "never heard of the check engine problem before".

Keep in mind all of this is my history using the Race ECM, no history with the stock unit at all.

My opinions expressed, if any of you like the product, great.

Does it come on and stay on every startup?

The service manual tells you know how to read the trouble codes. Most will only stay on if there is a current code being read, motor off and on should put it in the "history" file, just an extra 8 second warning it exists when starting.

If you need to read the codes and don't have the manual let me know, I'll help you through it. Use the quick board to ask, may be a good discussion for all.

The only way to erase codes without a Scanalyzer is 50 run cycles, 30 seconds on then off.

Thanks Pammy, but they are not the same. However, they seem to be the same diameter - so if worse comes to worse I will take the forks off of my S1. BTW - there seems to be one set of S2 forks for sale in the US.

Franks does not have them,I checked when the boneheads at local Racetech shop told me my fork legs were worn.(They were not) Check with suspension shops like Aftershocks,etc and see what they recommend.May be able to polish and or recoat-like Ti-nitride.I have seen sets for sale on E-bay.

Roc, your S1 legs will swap out if you get stuck in a hard place. The S2 legs went away pretty quick because the racers like them. Each leg having both compression and rebound, unlike the later White Power legs. If the scratch isn't to deep they can be polished. Thousand grit sandpaper and some time is what it would take. You might consider sending them out to a professional to be evaluated and polished. I would recommend White Bros or Lindeman Eng. Lindeman can do the TiN coating which will make them more scratch resistant (not to mention spendier).
