I bought it in 2017 with a broken “self-adjusting” tensioner. I replaced the tensioner and chain with factory parts and refilled with HD brand primary oil. Put in a new battery. Changed the oil with Mobil1 and a K&N filter. Then the clutch bearing failed while riding. It was replaced with a factory part & refilled with new HD brand primary fluid again. Since then, speedometer works intermittently, I replaced the speed sensor with a factory HD part. It didn’t completely fix that problem. Rode the bike a few times with no problems so I decided to give it some love. I rebuilt the front master cylinder using a factory HD kit and replaced the front brake pads with EBC HH compound. I put on a new set of Continental sport attack tires. Then it developed a weird electrical issue blowing the ignition fuse. I was not able to locate the exact problem so I replaced the main wiring harness with a brand-new N.O.S wiring harness. I also replaced the speedometer with a known good & tested part that read a couple hundred miles higher than the original. [old was 10,5xx/new was 10,7xx] And, that didn’t fix the speedo problem either. It’s 100% accurate while completely stopped but, that’s the only time. I also replaced the cut-up headlight brackets with an unaltered set and installed an actual Buell windscreen (black under orange plastidip) Rode the bike a few times until it left me stranded with a dead battery. Replace the battery. Charging system checked out good with 14.67 VDC. Replaced the battery with a cheap Amazon unit. Got about 3 short rides around the neighborhood before I had to push it home again. I let it sit for a couple weeks and the cheap battery wouldn’t recharge. So, I put in an expensive battery from a local supplier and added a volt meter directly to battery terminals. Performed all the charging system checks. Everything was fine. A couple short rides and the same thing happened. Meter showed 13.2-13.6 at idle and 14.2 at RPM. After a while the meter freaked out, the bike wouldn’t rev under load. I made it home before it died completely. Still had enough juice to restart. A week later it was completely dead. Charged the new battery for about 8 hours. It’s dead now too. Got a new battery from O’reilly. Found damage to the stator wires so I replace the stator and reg/rec. It’s charging at 14.2 and ridable until something else breaks.
Starts. Runs. Stops but for how long I don’t know. I’m done with it.
Lots of aftermarket parts.
It's worth about $2800 in parts so that’s what I want for it.
