Hi there, quick question. Why did the builder go with a different carb ? I’m concerned if it would deliver enough fuel for my build ?

since you didn't list your displacement or even the bike, theres no specific answer.. Any 38mm carb is good for a stock ironhead evo XL or 1200 1340 shovel or evo.STOCK... For a Buell motor the stock CV Keihin is a great street carb, providing it gets the 8-10 mods it needs to rid it of EPA regs.If you want out of the box performance on a stock Buell or even 1250/bigger kit, the sure bet is the Mikuni HSR 42mm ,but it will not deliver gas mileage and it fits tight and may change rider leg comfort. I do not recommend S&S carbs,although some people swear by them. NOT a street bike carb.If you have an over the top motor then on any carb you can ad multiple fuel extra circuits aka thunder jets, but they are rarely needed off the strip,and on a bike for looks.Check out nighterider.com.Its NOT fuel delivery,its Fuel/Air delivery and how well it mixes for the way the bike is ridden.the quicksilver is basically an American copy of a the HSR but made before Evo motors I believe,they have their pros and cons like them all.

Thanks .for the info. Ii have 2000 Buell x1 lightening 1250 kit and stage 3 heads .i have the edelbrock on my xr650r and I really like it for that bike , but I think for the Buell I will be going with the hsr42..
