1995 Buell S2 Thunderbolt - Whole or for parts. I have a California title for this bike but it's not currently transferable due to sale dates and names being overwritten. First purchaser filled in their details but never transferred title to their name. Subsequent purchasers tried to overwrite and it didn't work out. At least not in Illinois.

Bike runs and rides, though LF fork seal is leaking and rear brake not building pressure. Claimed motor rebuild 10k miles ago in 2002 at Modesto Buell with top end parts;
- Buell Lightning crank
- NHRS hurricane pistons
- Thunderstorm heads
- Millennium cylinders (likely 1250 kit)
- Rare hand built WesTec exhaust (2.5”) w. SuperTrapp pipe
- Bodywork is not bad could use a repaint and front fairing needs some repair
- Decent Marchesini rims some chips/scuffs consistent with mileage
- 14.5" recall shock
- Nice Zero Gravity Windscreen

Search on Y'Tube for "White 1995 Buell S2 Thunderbolt SW Chicago #000845" to see a video of it running.

$1700 obo for the whole bike with title as it is. Or will part out if I can sell the motor & trans together.

Email me at RTLLL@yahoo.com with what you're interested in from a parts standpoint. Happy to post or email additional pictures if you want a close up of something.

Bike is also posted on Facebook but I'll give 1st dibs to any interested BadWeBer.

I have other S2 parts as well if you don't see what you want/need.

Thanks for looking !

Rick

Just curious, is the additional VIN tag part of it being a California bike, I have never seen one of those , but have seen mention of the "California" bikes.

The VIN plate was a solution to a few of the 1995 S2 models having an incorrect digit in the stamped VIN
(5 should have been S). It was not specific to California bikes. Service Bulletin B-003.

Dammit.

That could replace my RIP #1365...if I hadn't had to put new clutch and new tires on my diesel pickup last month.

Grrrr.

Hey Rick,

Our registry has #845 as a Black Sapphire Pearl owned by Lake Bueller (Dennis) in Green bay, WI.

Is this the same bike with different bodywork?

Hi Tigermann,

I believe Dennis owned this bike at some point in the past. I'm guessing it's the same bike as it looks like the bodywork has a Rustoleum white rattle can paint job.

Thanks for the background on the original color.

Cheers,

Rick

Pretty sure my old bike sold to lake 2 years ago before I moved to Ga - I bought it from a Bueller in Fairfield Ca. Lake found another very clean S2 (which I believe he sold here recently) and then sold this one. Was that dark purple. I shot it white enamel - not rattle can. Got whit over spray all over the garage. Originally built by a HD mechanic in Ca. For a S2 It pulled pretty good. Very reliable. Fun in the mountains.

Hey rick, if lakes name is on the title, possibly contact him and see if he could order a replacement title for you?

I’d hate to see another S2 get chopped up.

Actually Mhlunsford's name is on the title. I've been trying to reach him via PM but to no avail. He signed the title in the wrong location with started the downward spiral of mishaps. A signed & notarized letter from him is all that's needed to get a duplicate title from CA.

If somebody wants to get a title, I can assist with a bonded Wisconsin title. You'll just need to pay the $100 bonding fee and the taxes (state decides on the amount)
