There is an ongoing question as to why the numbers shown on heads in the photos does not match those in the Buell Parts Catalog . . .any care to offer any enlightenment?

For larger manufacturing operations - like H-D - part numbers are needed for parts in every step of their production; raw castings, powdercoated parts, final machined, etc.

I'd speculate that the PN's cast into the head are the PN's for the raw casting.

1313 is correct. Casting numbers are for the raw part. Sometimes a casting number could change to accommodate other needs but still service the original part number (resulting in one part number that may have multiple casting numbers).

My attempt at editing ad to correct part numbers failed. I have confirmed that these are indeed S2 heads which are listed in the Parts Catatlog as 16450-94Y, 16698-90A
