All,
I need a fuel cap for my 2000 Buell M2. Actually, I only need the plastic piece attached to the aluminum cap if anyone has one of those(Harley won't sell it separately). But if you have the whole cap, that's OK too.

That is inaccurate information.

You CAN buy any part of it you want. Dave Gess fought hard for your right to do so.

I believe steve is talking about the bottom part of the fuel cap, part #16, which you do have to buy as a complete assembly just like the pic shows.

Part 16 (P0156.2) is an o-ring and can be purchased all by it's lonesome.

He's talking about the plastic part that turns and locks the cap in not the o-ring.

Okay....so it's part of 15, not 16.

Gotcha. In that case, it indeed would require the order of the entire cap.
