The reason I say that is the outlet looks different than a normal pipe. I don't know the history of the muffler, I bought a bunch of parts from a guy that stripped an X1 and this was with it. Maybe someone who knows more can chime in and verify.   J_dickau Posted on Sunday, March 26, 2017 - 12:03 pm:        Yeah, Looks like the outlet had been changed. I've been looking for a stock muffler because I want something a little quieter than the V&H I have on my 97 S3 now. I heard from a reliable source the late-model S3 an X-1 mufflers were fairly free flowing but a little heavy. I think I'll also need to upgrade my header pipe to a early tuber race pipe with a 2 1/2" collector outlet. If anyone has a decent early tuber pipe with a 2 1/2" outlet at a decent price please chime in.
