Well I have got the Buell bug again...

I have decided to sale my beloved Frankenbike! I don't know where to start with this bike. This has been a project of mine for about the last 6 years. It has came along way from the 1989 R100RT. I bought this bike barn fresh (in really bad shape). Since then it has seen many different outfits. This however has been its last and final change (cause it actually works REALLY well). Its been in this form for the past 2 1/2 years.

Ok so about the bike...

The bike started life as an 89 R100RT. I know that sounds old but let me finish haha. When I found it in a barn, it had been sitting for about a decade. After I struck a deal with the owner I hauled it home and completely disassembled it. I started from scratch on it. EVERY electrical component has been replaced (with the exception of the starter and main wiring harness). Alpha V-2 Ignition system, Dyna coil, complete charging system Enduralast brand by EuroMotoElectrik including a new diode board, and new battery. I had to rebuild the carbs and fuel system. New Uni Air filter. I desnorkled it and did an emissions delete. I had a single Russell Daylong seat made for it. Has the original side boxes. I custom built the dash to utilize the factory gauges. Has Pro-taper bars with Rox 2" risers. The front suspension is off a 2005 KTM525. I turned down the steering stem and made a spacer bushing to graph the front suspension to frame. I sprung the forks and added heavier weight oil to aid the forks for the heavier bike. The rear shock is a modified nitrogen piggy-back shock off of a 2007 KX with heavier spring. The Bike handles great for what it is. I really enjoy this bike but it just never gets ridden... I have a R1200GS that is my daily rider. I hate to see it sitting. It has already spent most of it's life cooped up!! The bike is just getting broke in at 42,627 miles. I have put 12-13k on it since I built it. Only reason I keep it is it makes a GREAT buddy bike hahaha!! My older brother rides it every year to the Georgia Mountain Rally. It's always been a big hit over there with the BMW guys. Well, enough rambling on my part. I know I have to put a number out there but I have never been good at this part. I can't even begin to count the hours of fabrication or machine work that I have put into this project. Its a labor of love (and sometimes hate).

I'm genuinely struggling to decide which of us would be stupider if we traded even up... your airhead for a 2007 XB12X with side bags, a a rebuilt salvage title, and a bad crank... but all the 2008 crank upgrade parts (including a low mileage crank) in a box.

Both are such lovely terrible ideas... : )

HMMMM... That sounds like a project for sure. What kinda other info you got on it? I am a mechanic by trade so the engine rebuild wouldn't scare me off. I have been watching the market on Buell's for awhile now and noticed that they are going ridiculously cheap. That's the only reason I put the BMW on the chopping block. I have owned NUMEROUS Buell's over the last decade. When I sold my last one I was determined to swear off orphaned bikes! I have regretted letting go of my last Buell since the day it left. Talk about sellers remorse!!
