Hey All,
Been wanting to pick up a bike for a while now and I think I'm ready to bite the bullet. I live in the country (gravel road) and commute nearly 100 miles a day. It's getting old so I'd like something to wake it up.

Due to my life/job, traveling across the country is pretty much impossible so the closer, the better.

With that; I'd like a relatively newer bike, color doesn't matter with most if not all of the storage attached. I plan on repainting as I'm coming into bodywork/painting my car.

Thanks!

I should have probably said to PM me since I'm not sure how much time I'll spend here.

How much is gravel? A beater Uly would be nice, but if you are really spending a lot of time on gravel, a KLR650 might be a better choice.

Only a mile of it, so nothing too bad. The other hour of it is on pavement.

Then there are some screaming good deals on 2006 Uly's. The 07's seem to have crank problems, though some are fine. So price in a crank if you are buying an 07 and be willing to roll the dice a little.

The 08's and up are solid.

From what I have read, I'd like an 08+ but I'm open to just about anything as long as I can justify (parts bike) it to the wife.

I love wrenching in general so it's not out of the question.

Here's an 08 near Myrtle Beach, SC:

If this is the bike I think it is, it belongs to former Badwebber "Tree727".

Thanks for the link.

Just got back from Japan so I never saw it (wifi sucked where I was).

Still looking!

If N.J. isn't too far, I have a 2006XT, low miles (9,000), black, new tires/wheel bearings/battery, stock bags, two extra seats, rear stand and bike lift muffler adapter. Bike converted to 'low' version, but I have the original tall parts.
