I am the original owner of this 2008 black UlyssesXT, located just south of Houston, Texas. The bike has 33,300 miles with ZERO wheelies/stunts, has been garage kept, cleaned after every ride, never taken off rode, and maintained very well. It is cosmetically and mechanically in great condition. The muffler is cosmetically nice but has a little superficial surface rust that I treat with corrosion inhibitor. I have three bikes and though I love the Ulysses, my riding time has decreased and I've made the tough decision to let it go.

The bike has the 2010 three bearing wheel, purchased from EBR, with bearings installed by EBR's racing folks in East Troy, 2" Rox risers, both the stock and tall seats in great shape, the Buell Comfort kit on the right side, a protected ecm, a throttle lock, etc. I also have Memphis Shades lowers and a Laminar Lip for the windshield that I took off for the summer.

I bought a 7 year full extended warranty when I bought the bike, that is transferable, and it has 4-1/2 months remaining. It can be used at the many Harley dealers which service Buells or at the large number of independent bike repair shops across the country. I just had a new front rotor as well as a new front isolator installed under the warranty. I bought new brake pads and had them installed with the new rotor. Also, while the bike was at the dealer the tech noticed that my stator, though working, was leaking a small bit. A new stator was installed. The tires are nearly new as well. They are Pirelli Angel GT's with only about 1000 miles on them.

This is a hard deal to beat, the bike runs great and is cosmetically very nice but, the time has come to reduce the number of my bikes. I also have a Buell parts manual, a Buell service manual, and a Buell electrical manual as well as spare parts including a brand new belt, new rear brake pads, gaskets, filters, etc., that will either be sold separately or included, depending on the final deal. In addition, I have the under seat Buell container/bag, and a Buell passenger seat bag that will either be sold separately or included, again depending on the final deal.
Thanks.

Deal of the century right there. I'm not allowed to spend the down payment for the house, or I'd be on the plane.

I did that once. It was pretty awesome, but not without peril.

Alex Prior ended up not being able to finish his nachos, driving 3 hours, changing a tire, loosing about half a case of Yungling, and having fertilizer spilled all over his garage floor.

Ferris ended up having to eat a steak he was making for me.

For reference for future used bike sellers.... 80% tread left doesn't mean 0% in the middle and 100% on the sides.

(This one looks ready for a fly and ride though. My real issue is that I don't have the 3 days time to ride it back)

Thanks Ourdee and Reepicheep. A fly and ride would be a great way to own this beauty. I did a fly and ride on my last bike purchase. I'll pick you up at the airport. Don't let this one get away and leave you buying one you aren't sure of. I'd love to have it go to a Badwebber. : ){http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/clipart/happy.gif,: )}

My limit on a Uly is about 850. And I was being stubborn that day. : )

Got some cats to herd for the next few days. If this is still available a week from now, who knows? It would be a fun fly and ride...

I'm not posting my Uly anywhere else. Many use, and are successful with, Craigslist but as active as Craigslist is in the greater Houston area I have no interest in going that route. This beauty will either go to a Badwebber or continue to hold an esteemed spot in my micro, or probably more appropriately microscopic, Leno collection. : ) Maintaining it for an enjoyable monthly ride is inexpensive and I have the room. I just need to get over the psychological hurdle of having it sit. My wife is there! She says, don't think about it, just ride it when you want to. Lucky guy, huh? : ) Who knows, if I keep it I may make one of Ourdee's Homecomings some day.

Well,I was hoping a badwebber would buy my beautiful Uly but it looks like Craigslist and another forum covering the southwest Houston area is going to get my bike post. I need to clear space and it kills me to see it sitting there. Here's my last effort, before putting it on the other forums on July 3rd. I'll call this a Fourth of July Sale! I'm dropping the price from $4,950. to $4,500. and opening it up for serious offers. Please re-read the post above about my beautiful, great running, no scratches or mars Uly and think it over. This one is special and it still has four full months of extended warranty so there is no risk! It also, in addition to the many add-ons listed above, including the 3 bearing rear wheel, has bright HID headlights, something I forgot to add in the post above. With three bikes I need to move it, and will, so here is your chance. PM me. Thanks.

Man . . talk about a home run of a deal!

Great bike . . .

Great deal . . .

Great folks . . .

Great ride . . .

And . . . in the instant case it gets better. You have the a wonderful supply of spare parts . . . all neatly bolted together where they are easy to keep track of.

Cool.

Let me know if you need me to go pick it up for you . . . I rode mine yesterday, for the first time in 2 years . . . and forgot how in love I was.

My biggest struggle in all of this will be resisting the temptation to just split the cases myself, replace the crank, and turn my other Uly into another runner. It's a good option at this point, because the bike was parked before it had time to damage anything else. It's just noisy right now.

It would be nice to have a salvage title loaner Uly in good operating condition that I can fearlessly toss the keys for to all sorts of people.

The question will probably resolve itself. I'll put it up for sale for $2k or so as is, and somebody will buy it or they won't.

Bill (Reepicheep) flew in to Houston this morning and bought my beautiful Uly. He is a great guy and I feel really good that my Uly went to someone who will enjoy and appreciate like I have. He is now headed back to Ohio on 'his' new Uly and hopes to get to Little Rock tonight. Here are a few pics.
Meeting of Uly guys.

Sooo... I do my seldom read of Facebook, see Reep on a Black Uly; lets log onto Badweb...

Great new ride, my friend, she's a great fit for your stable. We do need to get together soon.

Your first and only trip here was great- threw a total curve ball to my wife with how I'd go get someone with a flat a few hours away. And then she met Breedlove and Butcher...

We saw Brankin like 3 out of 5 weeks this simmer with his wheel issues, my son Weston has started asking about him... Brankin likes Daniel Tiger too...

This bike is screaming to make a trip to your neck of the woods. I can't believe how different the XT is from the X. You have the X, right? You need to take this XT for a ride.

The X handles like a dual sport with a really well done suspension. I don't mean this as an insult, I was embarrassing 1000cc sport bikes on Deals Gap on a KLR-250 with a really bad dual sport suspension. The Uly (X) suspension is awesome.

But you ride a dual sport type suspensino differently. On a dual sport, you settle into the turn as the suspension loads up, and lift out of it as you come out and the suspension unloads. I picture a good mogul skier who is reaching out for edge grip as they bounce mogul to mogul. It works and it is SOOOO smooooooth. And I have no end of fun blowing through speed bumps standing on pegs at 30mph on the X.

This XT rides hard and planted. Like a track bike. Not very much travel, and razor sharp transitions based on all inputs.

And most differently from every other Buell I have owned, when you lean it into a corner, it wants to hold the line you set without you maintaining bar pressure. On my other Buells, if you wanted to keep turning, you had to keep pushing. I actually grew to like that, I like to work at a turn. But this one is more like it just sets a line through a turn and holds it until told otherwise.

The result was at the end of Mike's drive way, and on several turns on the way home, I would end up turning more sharply than I intended and I would have to correct my line. I'll be used to it in a week or two.

It makes the bike feel really planted and happy to turn.

I was mostly on interstate riding alone so I didn't push anything on the way home. But there were a few times I was just finding a safe open spot in traffic around a long interstate sweeper turn, and looked down to see speedo numbers that surprised me relatively to how drama free the turn was.

My introduction to the XT was at the Mid Ohio Buell Inside Pass day. I was there with a friend from work, and he brought a bunch of Ohio riders from his Honda Forum with him. That was the first time the 1125 was ridden by the public. I made sure I got a demo spot on one of those, but didn't sign up for the XT's they had there, as I had ridden a 2006 Uly. I think I tried an XB12SCG or something instead.

Anyway, my buddy from work signed up for the XT. He is a very good rider and had significant track day experience. He was on the bike, and was amazed at how much fun it was and how well it was handling. He just kept pushing it further and further and said it just kept doing better and better.

What he didn't know, is that one of his acquaintances from the Honda forum was behind him on an 1125 (also a fairly experienced rider). He would catch up in the straights, but get left through the corners, and it was driving him crazy because he couldn't catch that great big upright dirt bike. I think they were on their third lap when he wadded the 1125 lowsiding through a turn the XT ran smoothly through. Everyone (except a very annoyed looking Buell guy trying to get several wadded 1125's stable enough to load back into the Buell truck) was fine.

I just wrote it off to testosterone poisoning for the 1125 rider (we have all been there) and attributed my friends raving about the XT handling as just somebody else who had never ridden a Buell finally getting to ride one and seeing how well they all work.

But now having ridden one, they really are an amazingly good handling bike, even by Buell standards.

The X is more comfortable for long rides. The softer suspension and bump absorption is quite nice. And an X can be hustled through something like Deals Gap no problem dragging pegs and keeping up with anything short of a supermotard no problem. So I'm not criticizing the X.

I'm just delighted to discover that this XT handles almost like my XB9, but has all the room of a Uly.

Washing the XT in the garage last night, I didn't break out the tape measure, but the thing looks QUITE a bit lower than the uly. It didn't feel that way sitting on it, but just looking at seat height, I wouldn't be surprised to find out the X is 2 inches higher than the XT.

The wind protection on the X and XT seem a lot different also, for reasons I also can't explain. On my X, the tall screen was awful for me. It delivered a buffeting beating right to my helmet at speeds. On this XT with the screen, once I removed the laminar lip extra bit, the tall screen worked well and kept a lot of air off me without helmet or throat buffeting. I have no idea why that would be the case, unless the beak on the X was messing with something.

I swapped the tall screen on the XT for my short screen from my X last night, but haven't ridden it yet. I like the airflow to lean into and to keep me cool, and I think the short screen is easier to remove and clean. And the short screen I have is smoked, so it looks pretty awesome on a black bike. : ). I don't know how it will feel.
