I've enjoyed owning this little fellow but just upgraded to something faster and fancier and don't have room for two motorcycles.

Included with sale:

> Buell tool kit 94685-00Y (see pics)
> NOS chrome headlight bezel
> NOS windscreen supports (set of 2)
> Pair of windscreen screws not currently installed
> Dennis Kirk choke cable (see below)
> New Buell oil filter
> Venom triple tree/swingarm stand set
> Harbor Freight hitch-mount motorcycle carrier (rated to 400lb)
> Four ratcheting tiedown straps

Maintenance needed:

An oil change is due in the next few hundred miles. A new filter is included.

Shifting would probably benefit from fresh primary oil.

The exhaust header needs to be hit with BBQ paint or some such (see pic).

One side of the gas tank lip (not the tank cover) would look better if sanded out (see pics).

Both tires are being replaced this afternoon with City Grips; the pictures show the original (!) Diablos.

Quirk:

The transmission doesn't do the 1-2 shift smoothly unless you stop in N for a millisecond. If you shift from second to first while stopped, the shift drum makes a clunk as you take off. Neither behavior has gotten worse over several thousand miles, and if both are kept in mind, the bike shifts well through all gears with no grinding or clunking.

Problem:

At less than 20% fuel remaining, during steady part-throttle cruising, the bike sometimes (but not always) acts like the TPS has gone bad: it surges and then loses power, requiring more and more throttle to maintain speed and eventually dying out and refusing to start for 10-20 seconds. It then can be started normally. Also pointing to a possible TPS problem is a high idle after extended riding despite a normal idle pattern on cold start. I was going to disable the TPS, which apparently also disables the automatic choke (auto-enrichener), hence the cable as used in the manual choke conversion here: http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/20164/6812.html?1297050249

Excessively large pictures below. I'm asking $1400 with the hitch carrier and stands and would prefer to sell as a package but would consider selling just the bike and associated parts. I can deliver anywhere between Santa Barbara and San Diego. PM if interested. Thank you!
