XT preferred but X considered its a height thing both are lower to the ground than the XRL. Cash available to offset difference in value.

I am planning a trip at the end of June and beginning of July and want a bit more comfortable ride than any I currently have.
About 2700 miles but will be climbing if we get rain as this is the bike I ride to work on rainy days.

This bike has some nice upgrades. 07 CRF450R FCR-Carburetor and Forks, XR's Only magnetic drain plugs, UNI-Filter + desnorkled, SuperTrapped Megaphone slip-on which if run open has a 3" exit it has a 3" glass packed perf-core but is loud as hell without the disk stacks + sounds great with them in place.

ernieboxer at gmaill dott comm for anyone interested

I would be open to getting an S2 or S3 now that i have been researching bikes for my trip, I will be on road only. I cant see getting a big touring rig not my style or size.
