A cross country move for me means a big lump of an engine for you. $800 buyer pays shipping. Located in Socorro, NM. Here is a complete Buell XB12x motor from a 2006 Ulysses. Bike was totaled in a mishap with a deer a few years ago and was kept around for spares. Now I'm moving and I'd rather not carry a spare engine across the country. With a 100 hp and 85 ft-lbs of torque, this will make any sportster, chopper, or whatever faster than it ought to be...and you don't have to build it! A few notes: Engine has high miles (55k) but was in excellent running order when the bike was totaled Comes with a full maintenance log (Service done by an anal retentive mechanical engineer...who used to hang out here) Rear plug blew out from rear head @ 54k but top end was torn down and threads repaired with a Time-Sert insert. Front head spark plug thread also received a time-sert as preventative maintenance Pictures of the bore are from top end teardown and looks barely broken in, quite impressive really No broken fins or damage to the engine from the crash but could use a general cleaning Does not include throttle body or ignition module/cover (saving it for my Uly but could be sold for the right price) $800. Check the prices for XB12 engines on ebay, not a single one sold for less than $1250. You can gamble on an ebay motor or you can buy one with a known history. Your call. Here is a few pictures, photobucket link below has MANY more. http://s855.photobucket.com/user/Bouncewell/librar y/2006%20Buell%20Engine

Froggy--- You are correct sir! I ended up buying the pair of his Ulys last August. I've added about 10k or so to the runner and love it. It does everything pretty well, not the best in any category but a really versatile machine. I wanted to keep this guy around but in reality, if I blow the engine on a nearly ten year old bike with 43k on the clock, it makes more sense to part it out. I also don't think I'll blow up that lump anytime soon. |
