It kills me to do this, but I have to let her go for now. I've gotta thin the herd down to one bike while I finish trade school, so I'll have to find another S1 in 1.5 years. Meanwhile, she needs to go to a good home where she'll be loved and enjoyed.

98' S1 with the TwinTail.
25K miles. She purrs like a rabid sasquatch, and runs like a raped ape.

She's got some special goodies:
NRHS 1250 Kit
American Sport Bike HamCan Air Cleaner
Aluminum Pushrod Bases with Collapsible Pushrod Tubes
Mikuni 42 Flatslide
Ceramic-Coated Headers
V&H SS2R
Accel Super Coil
Aluminum Crankcase Breather Catch Can
Banke Shifter
X1 Swingarm
Updated Shock
Traction Grips
Comes with Factory Tank Bra

Bled front and rear brakes, changed engine and primary oil, and did new plugs about 400 miles ago.
Clean and Clear Title.

$3,200 obo

Full Disclosure:
The original paint looks Fantastic, but there are two problem spots on the tank:

I suspect the carb settings aren't quite right. It takes her a good 3-4 minutes to warm up to where she'll idle without choke, and I'm having to fidget with the idle adjuster for a little while after I turn the choke off. I've run Seafoam through the tank a few times, and it's better, but I'm thinking she needs some minor carb adjustments. She's been sleeping in a garage a lot for the past few years, so she may just need a wake-up carb cleaning. She runs perfectly well enough to ride with mucho enthusiasm, but I can tell she's not quite at her *full* potential.

The right fork seal is starting to weep a little.

She'll need tires before too long.

Otherwise, she's a rare and special beast who's eager for her next chapter.

I check email, but cell is the most direct way to reach me.

She currently resides in Atlanta, Ga.

It occurred to me that $3,500 is probably a little optimistic, given that she needs tires, fork seals, and some *very* minor carb tuning.

I'll do $3,200 or best reasonable offer. She needs to go.

What cams are in the motor and any head work to go with the 1250 bore? Trying hard not to get interested.

Well I hope this doesn't make it easier for you to stay on the fence, but I'm pretty confident it's got stock cams, and I honestly don't know about head work. The original owner kept a Thick file of notes on all his research (which all comes with the bike), everything from 10 pages on Just spark plugs, to a few dozen pages on different heads and cranks. From his notes, I have to assume this guy was a Big-time gearhead, and so I can't imagine he Wouldn't have done head work while they were off, but I can't find anything that confirms that he Did.

Does that help?

Feel free to give me a call to chat about it, I'll tell you everything I know about the bike, including what's in the original owner's notes.

Let's make this simple: the first guy to show up with $2800 cash takes an excellent bike home.

Bump. Reasonable offers considered.

It's a shame that I'm having to Give the bike away like this, but apparently that's where the market is.
Rotten shame.

Shoot me a *Reasonable* offer, worst I can say is no.

PM sent, not in a good position at all since I just bought another s1 and "investing" a lot of funds to really build a nice bike, but if it comes down to saving it from a "chopper", I might see what I can do.....It would be along shot since Im broke, no where to park it....

I've been contacted by a kid on craigslist who wants the bike. He seems like a nice guy, but I can tell he's not passionate about Buells, and I think this bike really belongs in a home where it'll be truly appreciated. It would break my heart to know some kid messed up a gorgeous beast like this.

Someone please come give me $2600 for this bike so it doesn't fall into the wrong hands.
