Looking for the no longer made NRHS pushrod bases and timing cover. Dan still has a couple timing covers but they are rivet-ons; I would prefer the older screw-ons.

The company that makes those got pissed and stopped selling parts to them. Same with the company that was doing their head work. However those bases are still made and you can get them from other companies. Call Al at American Sport Bike he either has them or knows where to get them.

I'm familiar with the "family web" so to speak. I'd rather the NRHS branded pieces in particular.

Get them from Hammer performance. They still make them.

We don't sell them any more. Not that I don't like them, I do. But they are tricky to install. Too many people seemed to screw up the job, and more than one person got so pissy about it that I just didn't want to deal with it any more for the few bucks that we made on them. But if I was installing pushrods on my tuber, I'd put them on before using the stock POS bases.

I've installed a few sets, and never had a leak problem. The trick is to make sure that the outside of the seals stay dry and in place the entire time you're pivoting the pushrods into place. The way I did it was to have the seals installed into the bases upside down, and then would lick the pushrods (saliva is nice and slick) and pull the pushrod tubes down thru the seals in the bases 7/8's of the way, then pivot them into place, and slide the based down the tubes carefully. If anything shifts during that process, start over.

The only other trick was to put a small drill bit into the roll pin hollow center before trying to pull it out of the case. If you just grab the roll pin with pliers, you'll crush it and then it's a pain to remove.

Thanks for the tips Al. I know Hammer makes them, and nothing against them, since I know all three involved personally, but Dunn is what I consider a close friend, and I like these parts, so I'd like to find some of the NRHS branded ones.

So, from this listing I gather NRHS no longer offers headwork?

No they still offer head work and some billet pieces like their signature billet front mount that fits XB and/earlier XL/Buell heads, the round hurricane flow A/C, and the standard Hurricane flow A/Cs. They just no longer Cary these two pieces in particular that I want. As a matter of fact they are so far stacked up right now with headwork that they are at least a month out for new orders.

I've had fantastic luck with the billet bases and collapsible push rod tube covers (like the big twin set up) that zippers makes. sold through NRHS as well... you simply cant go wrong and there is no trick to installing them! they are great!
