I have a 2000 X1 Lightning that is way too tall for me right now...I ride it but it's very hard in parking lots to move it around without power. I'm 5'4" so will be looking into lowering it and getting a shallower seat.

An M2 seat won't fit on an X1.

Darn. What are my options with seats then? Shave it myself? Not sure I trust myself with anything slightly artistic in nature lol

Birdman, I came across a gunfighter with lady "low" seat, made by Corbin. I bet they make one for your application. Also I made a lowering spacer for my 97 Thunderbolt that bolts in between the shock and the mount. It worked good, maybe to good. It was so low that I was rolling around a freeway off ramp. I hit a dip and the right foot peg slammed into the pavement a bit harder than I felt was a good idea. I also dropped the fork tubes in the trees as far as was possible. After the foot peg incident.I put the suspension back to stock trim. My Thunderbolt has rubber isolators for the swing arm. I can rotate them and the frame will raise up or down. Rotating the into the lowest position will change the fork rake. So if you drop the frame, drop the forks, check your suspension has the proper sag settings. with a low seat. you could be set. take care

A thought on the forks...you could change your bars to clip-on style and that would allow you to position the forks wherever you needed to. Riding position would be much more aggressive, but maybe that would work for you?

Yeah I just need links to parts that would work or if anyone is looking to sell theirs..

I may consider clipons that raise up some. I don't mind aggressive riding style. Prefer it actually. Would prefer that over risers. Just gotta figure out how to drop that suspension in the back.
