I’ve decided to sell the bike that got me into bikes. For sale is my Black Sapphire Pearl 1995 Buell S2 Thunderbolt with the accessory touring kit. I am the original owner. I purchased it from Black Hills HD in Rapid City, SD with 3100 miles on it. They had used it as a demo bike. This is 49 state bike with the Keihin CV carb and a clear CA title. It is currently and correctly non-op’ed in CA. If you live in CA, it’s $103 to register it (tags renew in November) and ride it away. Bike is in Modesto.

Odo shows 30k but the bike has probably 50k on it. The speedo drive broke halfway through MO on my way OUT to the East Coast and I didn’t get it fixed right away when I got back. I did keep a pretty close eye on the mileage though.

Engine rebuilt ~3000 miles/ 10 years ago by Fly’n Don Babb of the world renowned Modesto Buell. Special internals include Lightning crank, Zipper’s crank scraper, Nallin Hurricane pistons, Thunderstorm heads and Screamin’ Eagle valve spring kit. I left the stock S2 cams in it because I was more concerned with low-end torque than top end horsepower. I did put a stock M2 ignition box in it, so it does rev out a little. I rewired the ignition box connector so it will accept the newer style boxes, if you want to put a different box on it. West tech head pipe, automotive SuperTrapp muffler.

Two front fairings, one stock fiberglass with some damage (BattleTrax lowside at AZ bike week 1998) replaced with plastic fairing from Tat at American Sport Bike. Two fuel tank covers. Two tail sections, one new, never been installed.

Touring kit. First style shallow bags, the ones with 3 Dzus fasteners and two barrel key locks per bag. Not keyed to the ignition, but I have the keys. Expandable cloth inner bags. High bars and low pegs kit, never been installed.

Shop Manual, parts catalog and original owner’s manual. EBC brake rotor. Shop triangle stands. Not pictured is the signature series card and timing plate. New battery. Original exposed-spring shock included.

$3500 for everything. I’m currently not interested in parting anything out. I’ll update this post if that changes. Email is the best way to contact me: ‘ds2spmc’ and that’s at the dot net of pacbell.

Danny,

That's a great deal for someone. Too bad I have one, but I do covet the other color!

What are you riding these days?

Hey Jon! Haven't seen you in forever.
I still have the V-Strom and the Ducati. I'm thinking about getting a dirt bike, but I'm not married to the idea.

If you're still doing the ASBN stuff, maybe I'll head over one month and burn a stogie with you.

BTW, the bike has SOLD!(Thanks, Pat)

Danny,

Still doing the ASBN thing indeed. Our loose unofficial confederacy is rolling along. You come and we'll have that stogies smoke out! We meet the first Monday at Dick's in San Leandro around the corner from our old pizza place.

It would be good to see you, Danny.

Congratulations on your sale!

Jon
