Author Message   Vwsinner Posted on Tuesday, July 10, 2012 - 06:41 pm:        It saddens me that my mistress met her fate in a structure fire and was smoked like a turkey. She was never touched by actual fire, but a few items above seat hight were melted and a few others not on the bike at the time of the fire are MIA. As you can see by the pics it is ugly as hell with smoke damage. The wiring is still supple, the tires are perfect, in fact they have only 25 miles on them. The engine has new complete gasket set, plugs and jugs, crank, oil pump and oilers. It was in the process of being put back together after a top end rebuild after a grenaded rear piston, had it running and everything. "Hey," says the shop owner (who never told anybody his insurance had lapsed), "let me put some exhaust tape on the headers, make it look cool as all get out! While I'm at it let me clean it up real nice for you!" I go to get the bike a week later and pull up to a burnt shop. ARGH! I called the Harley/Buell dealer in Pensacola Florida to make sure the frame could take the heat. I was told as long as the tires didn't pop, it was good to go. As you can see the tires still have the nubs on them. I might keep the fog lights for my Jeep, a keepsake from the bikes glory days...So call me for parts 505-227-1899.
