This is what I got back after inquiring about shipping.

Steve

Hi again, here are some pictures of the bike. The bike belonged to my husband. He died in Afghanistan in February this year when a military helicopter was shot down in eastern Afghanistan. He was an addicted biker and babied it very carefully. Since he past away, I've been ridding it and took care of it as my husband did. My family convinced me to let it go as it's the only way to pass this huge loss. It's a very hard thing to do but I'm trying to accept this situation and get over it.
Right now I'm in Honolulu, Hawaii due to my job (I'm an Air Force MSgt) and the bike is here with me. My husband left it here before leaving in Afghanistan so all the maintenance could be performed on time.
Since this is an online transaction I want both of us to be safe. For this transaction I will be using eBay Purchase Protection program, which means that you will receive the bike in the first place and you'll have 5 days inspection period until you decide if you want to keep it or not. I will pay for the shipping taxes as the delivery will be made through our Air Force affiliated shipping company and they will take care of everything (title transfer, insurance, paperwork, etc...). A refund policy is included which means that if for any reason you do not want to buy the bike, it will be returned to me on my expense.
If you agree with these terms please let me know your name, shipping address and phone# so that I can forward them to eBay and have the transaction started. They will send us invoices regarding this transaction as soon as the info is processed.
I'm waiting for your reply as soon as possible.
Thanks.

I had a similar response from an ad for a S1 in Iowa. The ad was off Craigs list.

Just received this...

Yes Steve, the price is $2300 with shipping and all the fees included. As I've said the costs of the shipping will be ok because AF Shipping (AAFES) delivers almost free of charge for us. Also they will handle all the necessary paperwork and title transfer.
If you agree please reply me with your full name and shipping address so that I can start the eBay transaction, if not just let me know because there is someone else interested in it.
Thanks

I would go ahead and let her ship the bike to me... Oh oops, I forgot your moneys...

But seriously. AAFES doesn't ship vehicles or motorcycles, unless you buy them through their company, which you can't buy Buells.
My other thought is, who in their right mind ships a bike across the ocean without getting any sort of money for it?

I posted my 1125R for sale on Craigslist and Cycle Trader and got similar scams, only to purchase the bike. Went on a fraud blog and found one of them, word for word trying to buy a camper.
I got an email yesterday from some GI at Edwards with a long sob story. Having spent 21 years in the USAF, I can say with some certainty, his story was pure BS. (They should do a little more homework! The AF doesn't have "camps", and it's "Edwards AFB" not "AFB Edwards" just to name a few).
All I can say is, thank god the bike is sold already, and buyer/seller beware!

Sad thing is almost anytime the military is brought up in a sale it's a scam. Nice thing is you can usually verify if somebody's in the service if you know the right folks.

Hi all, I inquired about this bike as well and received the same message back. I asked for the vin and the name of the dealer in okc who serviced the bike. wink, wink??????? Never got it and when you ask for more pics they photoshopped out the plate #. Nothing like abusing the sacrifice of our brothers and sisters in uniform.( sarcasm) JERK

even if y ou do buy it through AAFES like i almost did with mine they still don't ship they just use the closest dealer to deliver to you. in fact my guy wanted me to go to gainesville rather than jacksonville due to less than stellar perf of the dealer here in jax.
