Just a couple thoughts, but why not get the taller seat, and lower pegs from Knight Engineering, OR just trade or sell to get an S. Just seems like more of a hassle switching out forks and rear shock, to me at least.

i have the seat already. and i think it would be cheaper to trade shocks that to trade bikes. and i prob dont really need the S setup but i thought the extra travel might be nice. idk

04 changed fork diameter from 41-43 mm for the standard height bikes. low models kept 41 mm.
really the springs were the change inbetween '03 XB9 and 03 XB9S. shorter and stiffer springs for the S.
so you could re-build your forks with the taller springs and be good to go, but that would entail a bit of work and you'd eat the cost of fork seals and oil.

shipping a set is just easier and usually cheaper.

take a set of calipers to your forks at the upper and lower clamp points and post pics. that should eliminate any questions about fitment.
